The bouquet scattered around him, and his face ended up directly facing the cat's beautiful, clean, fluffy head—and those beastly eyes, clearer than the bluest sea.
Hayes nudged his soft pink nose closer, sniffing around Albert's neck and face again and again. At last, he extended the tip of his soft feline tongue and gently brushed over the young man's nose, as if marking his most treasured possession, afraid that even the slightest force might damage Albert.
Albert lay there lazily, revealing a faint smile so enchanting it could almost make a cat dizzy. He didn't ask why, as if he was not surprised in the slightest that Hayes would do something like this.
