What did it feel like to eat the treasure of the apocalypse—the God-Demon Fruit?
Jason found it hard to explain. The moment he ate the fruit, he felt his soul leave his body. His body felt as light as a kite, and his mind became crystal clear. The world reflected in his eyes seemed different.
On the other side, Bizarre Susan briefly locked onto her target. Using the instinct of a Bizarre beast, she opened her ape-like fangs at Jason and attacked.
She shot forward, knocking Johnsen away. She quickly crawled on all fours, jumped onto the ceiling, and hung upside down. Then, using her back legs, she swung her arm down like a basketball dunk, aiming a fatal claw strike at Jason's head.
Facing this terrifying attack, Jason stood still. He murmured to himself: "Too slow…"
His panel showed that Jason's stats were rising fast. His Speed quickly went from 10 to 30—a three-fold increase!
With this amazing speed, Jason only needed to move slightly. Before Bizarre Susan could react, he disappeared from her sight and reappeared behind her.
"Your speed is like a snail to me," Jason said.
A person with Speed 30 completely overwhelms a person with only Speed 10. If this were a normal, intelligent creature seeing such a difference, they would be scared and run away.
But Bizarre creatures can't feel fear or any other emotion. They only act on instinct, trying to kill what they see as the strongest creature and then eat it to evolve!
So, after missing the attack, Bizarre Susan had no fear in her eyes, only the bloodthirsty excitement of a beast. She stomped her feet, bent down to gather strength, opened her mouth wide, and shot like a cannonball at the back of Jason's neck.
Jason looked emotionless, his eyes cold. Looking at his Strength 27 stat, he struck. He raised his right hand, making his fingers like a claw.
Like a majestic lion on the savanna, he pushed forward fiercely, using the outer side of his wrist to hit Bizarre Susan's forehead with huge power.
There was a burst, and a lot of blood flew from Bizarre Susan's forehead... but she was not dead. Bizarre creatures have extremely tough life force.
Jason knew this, so his attack didn't stop. His five fingers clamped down like iron claws, holding the Bizarre's head still!
"Susan!"
Just then, Johnsen, who had been knocked down by Bizarre Susan, crawled over on his hands and knees like a madman. He grabbed Jason's pants, pleading: "Jason, that's Susan! Please let her go! Don't hurt her!"
Jason was like a cold, cruel soldier. He ignored Johnsen. As a reborn person who had lived through the apocalypse, he knew how dangerous these Bizarre creatures were.
He pressed his fingers into Bizarre Susan's temples and squeezed hard. Using his powerful Strength of 27, he crushed her skull, successfully killing her! He continued to squeeze with all his strength, ignoring Johnsen's pleas and Bizarre Susan's dying screams, using his Strength 27 to pop her head.
She instantly became a harmless pile of bloody flesh.
"Oh, no! Susan!" Johnsen cried out in pain. He was shocked, like a castrated cat, and couldn't handle the scene, fainting right there.
It was only then, after making sure Bizarre Susan was completely dead, that Jason slowly released his fingers, letting the Bizarre Susan's body drop by the hallway window.
Jason stopped in front of Bizarre Susan's body, slowly squatted down, and placed his hand on her forehead.
After a moment, a white light appeared on Bizarre Susan's forehead. A white, crystal-shaped object floated out. It was white on the outside but had a little golden light inside.
Seeing the golden light, Jason looked confirmed. "I'm lucky! I didn't expect the first Bizarre I killed to have a skill."
"I wonder if it's an active skill or a passive skill."
Saying this, Jason grabbed the white crystal, brought it to his forehead, and the moment it touched his skin, the crystal turned into a flash of white light and melted into Jason's body.
"Sigh…" Jason felt warm. All the energy he lost in the fight was instantly restored.

The stat increases were from eating the God-Demon Fruit, and the new passive skill was from absorbing the Bizarre Core!
In the apocalypse, any creature that kills a Bizarre gets its core. Absorbing the core increases their experience level, helping them evolve to a higher level, just like leveling up in a game.
A very small number of Bizarre creatures have special skills. When you kill and absorb the core of one of these Bizarre, there is a chance you can gain that skill. Of course, most of these skills are just small supporting abilities, not as powerful as the God-Demon Fruit.
After understanding the skill, Jason realized why Johnsen seemed hypnotized: he was charmed by Bizarre Susan and became her follower.
"It's a good thing this skill is only passive. Otherwise, the Bizarre could have used Johnsen to attack me," Jason thought, looking at the unconscious Johnsen lying on the ground. That would have caused a minor problem.
Only a minor problem, though.
"Next, I need to see what my God-Demon Fruit ability is. It looks like it's something special," Jason thought.
Normally, after a person eats a God-Demon Fruit, they can immediately use its ability, like breathing fire if they eat a Fire-type fruit, or shooting water if they eat a Water-type fruit.
But after Jason ate this fruit, besides the increase in stats, he felt nothing else. It was like a hero with a blank skill list. So, he had to check his ability on his panel.
"Phew… I hope the ability isn't too weak," Jason took a deep breath. He clicked to see the skill details. After reading the description, his eyes widened in shock, and his chest rose and fell sharply. His face even became flushed. He said:
"Oh my god! Thank the gods, I actually ate such a powerful fruit!"
