Chapter 18 - Chapter 18

The Yuan Realm: Dawn of a New Order

When the Yuan Realm first came into being, time began to flow.

There were no cycles of sun and moon, yet time passed quietly at its inherent pace. On the empty-hued canvas of the sky, a rhythm of light and darkness evolved naturally—this was the "breath" of energy tides under the new-born rules, becoming the Yuan Realm's unique day and night.

Lin Mo had sat cross-legged with closed eyes atop the Administrative Center for an unknown duration. His figure grew increasingly ethereal, like a cyan silhouette etched into the core rules of the Yuan Realm. His consciousness was the "will of heaven," carefully sorting out every energy vein, stabilizing every inch of spatial structure, and guiding matter to settle and differentiate from chaos.

The demons who had been forcefully brought into this realm initially overcame their confusion and shock, then began to fumble for survival under the new laws. They soon discovered that many instincts and experiences they had relied on in the Demon Realm were now useless: recklessly absorbing demonic energy triggered rejection from the rules, and crude energy usage became absurdly inefficient.

Yet at the same time, they felt an unprecedented sense of "freedom."

Though the "primordial energy" flowing in the air was gentle, it contained far more fundamental power. With the right methods, their progress far outpaced the days in the Demon Realm, where growth depended on devouring and plundering one another. The exotic plants Lin Mo had introduced—those that survived the world's creation—began to reveal astonishing traits: some condensed energy spontaneously, others used their roots to stabilize the earth's rules, and still more grew natural patterns on their leaves that aided energy guidance.

Gelake, Moshi, and other former leaders of the community naturally became guides in this new world. They organized research teams not just to respond to crises, but to truly understand and harness the new realm.

The "Energy Application Department" discovered that using primordial energy directly for production was far more efficient than any known method before. New workshops powered by geothermal energy (adapted to the Yuan Realm's rules), light energy (from the sky's light-dark cycles), and primordial energy currents were built—their productivity far surpassing the energy towers of the Demon Realm era.

The "Agriculture and Ecology Department" carefully cultivated these exotic plants, experimenting with hybridization and selection while planning planting areas that aligned with the Yuan Realm's energy cycles. Fields of "Dawn Grass" (which emitted soft light) and groves of "Yuan Crystal Trees" (which bore fruit rich in pure energy) began to dot the young land.

The "Rule Analysis Institute" (led by Moshi) dedicated itself to deciphering the Yuan Realm's underlying rules and compiling The Yuan Realm General Principles (First Edition), aiming to refine Lin Mo's overarching rules into specific laws that could guide daily production and life.

The entire society buzzed with a vibrant vitality unknown in the Demon Realm. Resources remained limited and technology was far from mature, yet in the eyes of every being in the Yuan Realm, there shone a light called "hope." They were no longer demons passively enduring fate, but pioneers participating in the creation of history.

However, not all changes were gentle.

The Yuan Realm was, after all, born from chaos—and Lin Mo's "definitions" were not omniscient or omnipotent. Conflicts between rules, energy stagnation, and even "mutation" phenomena in some areas (caused by residual chaos) occurred from time to time.

An newly reclaimed Dawn Grass field saw all its blades twist overnight into hissing tentacles.

The spatial structure of a planned workshop foundation suddenly destabilized, swallowing several exploring gargoyles—their whereabouts remain unknown to this day.

There were even reports of unnatural geometric structures (similar to the Observer's creations) flickering briefly in the chaotic energy currents of the realm's borders.

These "anomalies," like lesions on a newborn body, reminded all Yuan Realm residents: their world was not absolutely safe, and the "Heavenly Dao" who created them was not all-powerful.

On this day, Lin Mo's figure—once as unchanging as eternity—stirred slightly.

He opened his eyes slowly.

The flowing light of rules in his eyes gradually subsided, returning to a profound calm. He "saw" the world beneath him—already taking shape, yet hiding hidden dangers.

He saw the orderly workshops and fields, and also the mutated areas caused by conflicting rules.

He saw the hope for the future in the demons' eyes, and also felt the fear of the unknown deep in their hearts.

He saw the Yuan Realm growing steadily, and also the "wildness" of chaos lurking in the depths of the rules—something even he had not fully mastered.

He raised his hand, and a wisp of gray "Order" thread reappeared at his fingertip. Compared to before, it was more solid, and its connection to the entire Yuan Realm was even tighter.

"Gelake, Moshi."

His voice echoed directly in the minds of the two core members.

Moments later, Gelake and Moshi appeared on the top platform, bowing respectfully.

"Heavenly Dao," they addressed him—using the title that best represented Lin Mo's current state and identity.

Lin Mo's gaze passed over them, landing on the distant "Mutated Woodland"—a place扭曲 and emanating an ominous aura due to conflicting rules.

"The world's framework is initially stable, and its 'flesh and blood' are growing," he spoke calmly. "Yet chaos is not far away, and hidden dangers remain. Pure defense and avoidance are not long-term solutions."

The "Order" thread at his fingertip swayed gently, pointing to the Mutated Woodland.

"I intend to establish the 'Sky-Watching Pavilion'."

"Responsibilities: Monitor the operation of the Yuan Realm's rules, mark and handle rule conflict points, energy stagnation zones, chaotic mutations, and... all signs of external interference."

"Members of the Sky-Watching Pavilion must be proficient in rule identification, skilled in using primordial energy, and capable of responding to unconventional threats. For the first batch of members, you two will select elites from existing departments to form the team."

Gelake and Moshi were shocked. The Sky-Watching Pavilion! This would be the Yuan Realm's first institution dedicated to addressing internal hidden dangers and external threats—its authority and responsibility far exceeding any previous guard teams.

"Additionally," Lin Mo continued, "the Rule Analysis Institute must accelerate the supplementation and revision of The Yuan Realm General Principles. This is especially urgent for standards such as upper limits on energy usage, spatial structure stability, and the definition and handling procedures for mutation phenomena."

His words injected a deeper sense of order into the new-born world and clarified the direction of its future development.

"We respectfully obey the Heavenly Dao's decree!" Gelake and Moshi responded solemnly.

Lin Mo nodded, closing his eyes again as his divine consciousness merged with the Yuan Realm once more.

He knew that creating the Yuan Realm was merely moving the chessboard to a broader field. The Observer—their former enemy—had not disappeared. Internal hidden dangers also required constant vigilance.

But this time, he was no longer alone.

He had an entire world as his backing, and countless subjects willing to follow him and build this new world.

Unconsciously, he traced a complex rune on his knee—a new configuration centered on the "Order" thread, integrating the Yuan Realm's rules with his understanding of chaos.

A configuration that might allow them to actively explore the "Void," or even "observe" in reverse the cold heights beyond...

The road ahead was still long.

But the flow of time in the Yuan Realm had only just begun.
