Chapter 3 - All for a Little Girl

Mount Olympus—this stony grey pile of bullshits. I'm finally gonna meet the fams. Well… family. I just hope Hestia shows up.

"Still can't believe how tall it is," I muttered, staring up at the ridiculous mountain as the wind slapped my face.

"Could be taller than the Burj Khalifa. Though it stands tall, this fucking mountain is the real shitty deal."

This is serious.

I hovered myself upward, letting the air ripple around me as I soared to the main hall. Countless gods had gathered, their bodies glowing in different colors, their eyes all turning toward me the moment I entered.

"Hey, look, Hades…"

"Isn't he—"

"Yeah, he called a meeting…"

I guess Nyx really did drag all of them here. And when I mean all, I mean all the gods and demi-gods of Olympus—packed shoulder to shoulder, whispering, judging, scared, curious.

"Well, well. If it isn't my brother, Hades."

I turned, gaze locking onto Poseidon.

Then—

SPLASH!

Cold water slammed straight into my face and drenched my robes. Poseidon threw his head back and laughed like an idiot.

"HAHAHAHA!!!"

Great. I did not know he was a prankster. Or maybe he just felt bold today. I calmly snapped my fingers, drying myself and my robes instantly. Steam rose from me like an angry kettle.

"Hades, what's with this meeting, huh?" Poseidon asked as he walked up, getting right in my face. "Besides, it's not like—"

CRACK!

"GAHH!!!"

Before he even finished his dumbass sentence, I tore off Poseidon's arm clean from the socket.

Blood sprayed like a goddamn fountain. Before he could scream again, I grabbed his face and gouged out his left eye.

KKRRSHH!!!

"GAAAAH!!! MY EYE! MY EYE!!!"

His roar shook the hall. The floor trembled. The room turned deathly still. Every god staggered back, panic rippling through them like a wave.

Their faces twisted in fear. A few clutching their chests, others raising shields, some trembling so hard their divine auras flickered.

I looked around at them, breathing slowly, feeling their terror burn deliciously against my skin.

"Yeah. Not so arrogant now, huh?!"

My voice boomed across the hall. Some gods flinched like children caught stealing. I stepped forward, letting the blood drip from my fingers, letting the silence choke them.

I yelled again, a primal echo that shook the very stones of the mountain.

"HUUUUH!!!!"

They didn't move. None dared to speak, none stepped forward. They were all frozen—gods, demi-gods, immortals—silent cowards hiding behind their shiny titles.

"Yeah, that's how it's been and will be," I growled. "You fucking cowards. All bark, but no bite."

I dropped Poseidon's eye. It hit the floor with a wet plop. I turned my back on everyone and walked to my seat among the round chairs, my footsteps echoing like thunder.

A bolt of lightning ripped down from above—Zeus. He descended dramatically, of course, cloak flowing, hair glowing like he practiced this shit in the mirror. He sat on his throne with that fake calm.

"I guess we shall begin the meeting," he said.

Hera stepped out from behind the throne, sitting next to him. Her face was stiff, vicious, judgmental—nothing new.

"Hades, why have you called for this meeting, and for what purpose?"

You're seriously asking me? You literally fucked a nine-year-old, you dumbass. What do you think the meeting is for?

"Ahem…" I leaned back in my seat. "I gathered this meeting to discuss something with everyone here about you, Zeus."

He raised a thick white eyebrow, just like I expected—like that one cartoon I watched as a kid, with the purple dog, clueless old lady, and the dumbass farmer who always looked confused.

"What did I do, brother?"

Called it.

"It's about your ongoing affair, Zeus. And, of course, the proof."

I raised my hand and summoned the soul of the innocent nine-year-old girl from the Underworld.

She appeared beside me, her form trembling, faint, glowing softly with the pain of a life cut short.

"You fucked a minor,"

I said coldly.

"And your dumbass wife Hera killed an innocent child. Hera, goddess of motherhood and whatever the shit she claims to be, with her half-dumb brain."

Hera's nostrils flared. Her jaw clenched so hard I swear I heard teeth grinding. Even Poseidon—still screaming in the corner with one arm and one eye—covered his mouth like, 'Oh shit, Hades is dead meat', shocked that I actually called Hera a half-brain bitch to her face in front of all Olympus.

I looked at the little girl—terrified, shaking like a leaf. Standing beside me in the presence of all these gods made her feel like the smallest thing alive, like an unimportant soul… an ant in a nest of predators.

I scooped her into my arms and gently sat her on my lap. Her trembling body pressed lightly against me.

I rested a hand on her head and stroked her hair slowly, giving her a soft smile. She hesitated at first, but then leaned into the touch like she hadn't felt comfort in ages.

When I glanced back at the room, several gods looked stunned. I could see it in their eyes—shock, disbelief, confusion. Of course they were shocked.

I Hades, Lord of the Dead, the most feared god alongside Zeus… and here I was treating a child's soul with care.

In mythology, most of them wouldn't even make eye contact with Hades. Now they didn't know what to think.

"As I was saying," I continued, voice steady, "this meeting is to decide what to do with your carnal affairs, Zeus."

Zeus leaned forward on his throne, expression stiff. "And what do you propose, Hades?"

"Oh, I don't know," I said casually. "How about you f—!"

I stopped mid-sentence and turned to the child.

"Close your ears, kiddo. This is adult talk. I don't want you growing up with these kinds of manners after I send you the the pool of rebirth."

She quickly covered her ears with her tiny hands. Gods above… so cute. This little girl was too pure for Olympus.

I turned back to Zeus.

"Like I said—fucking stop raping, or I will punish you."

Zeus rose from his throne slightly, thunder rolling behind him. "Punish? Do you know who I am, Hades?"

Dumbass. We all know who he is. Or maybe his half-brain finally developed like Cronos's did.

"I don't fucking care if you're King of the Gods or Omega Petty Rapist,"

I snapped, getting up from my seat as I set the child down on my seat and pointed at Zeus.

"You're still a being—and a god—who must be judged on trial."

"SILENCE!!!"

The word exploded across the hall. Clouds above the mountain rumbled like the heavens themselves were shaking. A crack of lightning lit up Zeus's face with pure rage.

But did I give a damn? No. Not even a little.

Hell, I even noticed a few demi-god losers at the back trying to sneak toward the exit to avoid Zeus's wrath. One of them tripped on his own sandal. Pathetic.

"Are you asking for me to apologize to a child, Hades…?!"

"Asking? No," I snapped. "I'm demanding an order, fucker!"

Zeus's eyes widened, lightning dancing behind them. "You would go to this extent for a petty mortal soul…?"

"Petty knows the value of life," I said calmly, leaning forward. "But the mighty are blinded by arrogance."

"HADES!!!!"

Yup. There it is. He finally lost his shit.

Zeus summoned a massive bolt of lightning and launched it straight at me. The strike screamed through the hall, blinding white and roaring like a storm.

I snapped my fingers.

The lightning shattered into a swirl of glowing moths, fluttering harmlessly around before dissolving into sparks.

Damn. Little bro really has a BIG tantrum.

I snapped my fingers again, sending the little girl's soul safely back to the Underworld before things escalated even more.

Then I launched myself forward, closing the distance in a blink. My knee slammed into Zeus's gut with a heavy, sickening thud, forcing the air out of his lungs.

Before he could recover, I drove two brutal uppercuts into the exact same spot, sending him flying high into the air like a discarded doll.

As he soared upward, I summoned my chain blades—black steel wrapped in Underworld fire. I whipped them upward, the chains whistling dangerously, and hooked them around Zeus's ankle.

"Get over here!!!"

I yanked him down with all my strength. The King of the Gods plummeted, crashing into the marble floor with a thunderous boom that cracked the ground beneath us.

"Hades! You dare attack my husband!" Hera screeched, rising to her feet.

"Yes, I dare, you fucking bitch!!!"

And just like that—Yeah. That escalated really quickly.

I'd started a brawl that shook the cosmos. The heavens trembled, the Underworld roared in response, and every god in the hall backed away as divine forces collided. All of this… all this destruction… all for a little girl who deserved better.
