Chapter 4 - 604A The Uninvited Guest

"Come on! Run, we haven't even started practice!" Henry yelled. "This is just warm-up, and you're already out of breath! Even Luanna is doing better!"

"What is that supposed to mean?!" I was indignant.

"Well, it um…" he stuttered.

"It means you're weaker and less capable," Niall sneered.

"Spoken like the guy I wouldn't even need a minute to take down," I retorted.

"Alright, that's enough!" Henry interrupted Niall, who was already opening his mouth to speak. "Guys, we agreed that today would be a serious practice. We'll be selecting who plays offense, defense, the captain, and so on. Everyone can be everything, so put in the effort. Now, let's divide into teams! Niall and Luanna, start picking."

He finished speaking, and Niall pulled off his shirt, as if preparing for battle, and gave me a mocking look. Without shame, I took off mine, too, leaving myself in just a sports bra. He tried not to show how much it affected him, but he was struggling.

"Louis!" I yelled, making my first choice.

"Josh!"

"Jake!"

"David!"

"......"

^ End of Game ^

Score: 3:3

"Thirty seconds!" Henry shouted.

"Pull yourselves together!" I yelled encouragingly. "Jake, over here!" I screamed when I saw him knock the ball away from an opponent.

When the ball was in the air near me, I concentrated and kicked:

After the kick, I fell onto my back and just lay there, happy because we won against Niall. Primarily, that was my goal: to show that he isn't the best. Everyone on my team started shouting and jumping for joy. Niall was furious, but I didn't dwell on it because my team ran up to me, lifted me into the air, and tossed me up a few times.

Finally, finishing our "celebration," we rushed over to the coach, where he started saying:

"Wow," was the first thing he said. "Unexpected, but let's get down to business. Goalie stays, Josh," he said confidently. "And the Captain…" He seemed to be thinking very intensely and finally sighed. "It has to be Luanna," he stated, and I couldn't hear anything else. Everything seemed to stop. I had always wanted to play on a real team, but becoming the captain… Dreams come true.

I leaned on my knees and took a deep breath.

"Yeaaaa!" I shrieked, jumping into the air. "Yeeees!" I shouted and started running around the stadium. "Hahaha! Take that, Horan!" I screamed at him, flipping him off.

He was red with anger, but ignoring him, I ran to the locker room to change. Once I was ready, I rushed out because I remembered Shawn. He was waiting for me, smiling.

"Hello, team captain!" he hugged me.

"Hi! Did you see?" I asked.

"Yeaaa!" he mimicked me, and we both started laughing.

"So, where are we going?" I inquired.

"To the movies, if that works for you," he said.

"Of course! Just please, no romantic ones," I requested, as I wasn't a big fan of them.

"Thank God! I hate them. A taxi should be arriving soon because my car is being repaired," he explained.

"So, what year are you here?"

"Second year."

"Wait, but I don't understand why we're in the same lectures if I'm a freshman?" I pondered.

"Because the college isn't huge, and there aren't that many lecturers and students," he explained. "But I think it's much more fun this way," he said, and opened the taxi door for me to get in.

^ 9:46 PM ^

"I'm going to win!" I said confidently.

"I have no doubt, but don't get involved in anything you shouldn't," he shrugged as we approached the dorm door. "Thanks for today," he smiled warmly.

"Thank you!" I replied. "Well, I have to run. See you tomorrow," I hugged him and hurried inside.

Opening my room door, the sight was shocking. I saw El and Louis engrossed in a kiss.

"Just give me your key, and I'll leave," I said to the guy, collecting my clothes for tomorrow. He tossed the keys to me, and I rushed out of the room.

Without rushing, I started climbing the stairs to the sixth floor. I had no idea who he lived with. Oh, El is going to owe me one.

Reaching room 604A, I sighed deeply and unlocked the door. Stepping inside, I saw a larger room with three beds and two guys watching football on a television. Where did they even get a TV?! They didn't even turn to look at me.

"Louis, can you throw me two cans of beer from the table?" Niall asked. Of course, he's here.

I picked up the cans and threw one at his head and the other at Harry's.

"What's wrong with you, Louis?!" he shrieked, and turning around, they started screaming even louder. It was the funniest sight I had ever seen. "How did you get in here?!"

"Through the door?" It sounded more like a question.

"It was locked!"

"Then what are keys for?" I asked, holding up the key Louis had given me.

"Did you kill him and take his key?" Harry asked, intimidated.

I started laughing.

"Your friend decided to play house in my room," I explained.

"I'm going to kill him," Niall muttered.

"Don't be so grumpy, former team captain," I sneered.

"Oh, Niall, you never told me who took your place," Harry said, and Niall shot me an angry look.

"Don't even try," he growled at me.

"Luanna, who is it?" he questioned. I grinned.

"Don't try it!" the blond repeated.

"Harry, guess," I said.

"Well, alright… Jake?" I shook my head. "I have no idea who else it could be."

"I'll give you a hint," I said, and he nodded. "That person hates Niall."

"No!" he gasped. "You didn't do that," he was in shock.

"Oh yes, I did," I chuckled.

"Wow," he tried to process. "I thought there wouldn't be anyone better than Niall here," he muttered. "I was sure of it. Everything changes," he spoke to himself. "But Niall," he drew out. "Do you remember what you told us?" Harry grinned.

"That's not true," he shook his head. "That was two years ago, Harry, so don't even bring it up."

"Bring up what?" I was interested.

"None of your business," he growled. "And I'm telling you again, Harry, never," Niall said seriously and turned back to the TV.

The curly-haired one mumbled something under his breath, like, "We'll see about that." And he, too, focused on the match. Of course, I really wanted to know what they were talking about, but I gave up and looked around the room. I saw a mini-fridge. Where did that come from?! I opened it and took a can of cola, because I didn't want to get drunk tonight. I sat down on the sofa next to Harry.

"That Coke is Niall's," he said, still watching the screen.

"And you think that changes anything?" I snorted.

"Forget I said anything," he sighed. Finally, leaning against him, I fell asleep.

^ Morning ^

I was woken up by a whispering:

"Niall, are you sure?" I think it was Harry.

"110% sure," he replied.

"But knowing her for a couple of days, I know this won't go well for you," he continued, whispering.

I discreetly opened one eye and saw Niall approaching me with a bucket that I suspected contained water.

"Take one more step, and you'll end up in the hospital," I mumbled lazily.

They jumped in fright, and Niall nearly spilled it on himself. "Thanks, Harry," I thanked him.

"For what?" he was confused.

"For waking me up from your loud whispering, and probably for preventing your friend from ending up at the nurse's office," I mumbled into the pillow, eyes closed.

"You're welcome?"

"Now let me sleep," I grumbled and rolled over to the other side.

"Then you'll miss breakfast," Niall said.

"Yeah, I suggest you do too. You're fat," I mumbled.

Harry started laughing hysterically, and I suspected Niall was red with anger.

"I am not fat," he objected.

"Three of me would fit into your jacket, so yes, you are fat. Now get lost and wake me up in an hour."
