Damon had initially written off what Magnus said as metaphorical. Poetic, even. Either that or the man was dramatizing his feelings, dressing them up in grand, sweeping language because that was just who Magnus was.
But after knowing him this deeply, seeing the cracks beneath the bravado, their fight, and his jealousy, Damon realized something. Magnus wasn't someone who'd say things like that in jest. He wasn't someone who lied about matters of the heart.
Not like this.
