Mitsuri Kanroji beamed brightly.
"I'm very interested in the Demon Slayer Corps, and I want to find a man I truly like!"
Shinobu blinked once, then smiled.
"In that case, I'll introduce you. When I return to headquarters, I'll take you with me."
"Really?! That's wonderful! Can I call you Kocho?"
She asked it so earnestly that Shinobu couldn't help but soften.
"You can. And may I call you Mitsuri?"
"Yes, of course, Kocho!"
Mitsuri clasped her hands happily.
"You're so gentle! I'm so glad I met you. You're like an angel!"
Shinobu laughed lightly.
"My older sister is even gentler than I am."
"Kocho's sister?! I want to meet her so badly!"
The excitement in Mitsuri's eyes was pure and sincere.
Then Mitsuri hesitated.
"Kocho… I was actually planning to visit the Eternal Paradise Cult before going to headquarters."
"The Eternal Paradise Cult?" Shinobu's expression shifted slightly.
"Yes! I heard their leader is a 'child of god' who can hear divine voices. I was wondering… maybe he can predict what my future husband will be like!"
Shinobu's eyes darkened for a brief moment.
The Eternal Paradise Cult.
Her sister had once investigated that place.
Disappearances had occurred there.
And that was where she encountered Upper Rank Two.
Where everything changed.
"Then I'll go with you," Shinobu said calmly.
Mitsuri blinked. "But… weren't you looking for someone?"
Shinobu looked away.
"No trace. No clues. It's pointless chasing shadows."
She huffed lightly.
"He's not important anyway. Just an annoying demon."
Mitsuri giggled softly.
"If he's not important, why were you searching so hard?"
Shinobu puffed her cheeks.
"Let's just hurry. We should reach the Eternal Paradise Cult before evening."
"Mhm!"
Mitsuri followed her cheerfully, curious about the mysterious person Shinobu had been searching for.
He must be someone strong… to make Kocho care that much.

The biwa echoed.
Nakime's strings resonated as the Upper Ranks appeared one by one.

Doma
Akaza
Hantengu
Gyokko
Daki
Gyutaro
They knelt in unison before Muzan Kibutsuji.
"Lord Muzan."
It had only been months since the last Upper Rank gathering.
Why summon them again?
Muzan's gaze swept over them calmly.
"My son, Ryuya, will challenge for an Upper Rank position."
Silence.
Heavy.
Oppressive.
Daki gasped, then immediately brightened. She rushed forward and clung to Ryuya's arm.
"Brother Ryuya! Are you really becoming an Upper Rank? Ume is so happy!"
Ryuya smiled faintly and gently stroked her hair.
Gyutaro visibly relaxed.
As long as his sister was favored, he was safe.
Connections mattered.
Strength wasn't everything.
Gyokko, meanwhile, felt cold sweat forming.
Extremely dangerous.
Terrifyingly dangerous.
First, he had already offended Ryuya with that tracking incident.
Second, if a position had to be vacated…
Upper Rank Five was looking mighty fragile right now.
He silently prayed that his "artistic value" might spare him.
Then there was Hantengu.
His small body trembled violently.
Something was wrong.
Terribly wrong.
Gyokko kept glancing at him.
Why?!
Why was he looking at him like that?!
Among the Upper Ranks, he had the weakest connection to Ryuya.
Ryuya barely spoke to him.
If a Blood Battle for replacement was initiated against him—
He'd be torn apart.
But surrendering his seat voluntarily?
Impossible.
Muzan might kill him on the spot for cowardice.

Hantengu's mind spiraled.
