Chapter 2 - “Chapter 2: The Arrival of Doomsday

Ash Leon knew one thing for certain: to survive, he had to act on the voice's instructions.

He stepped quickly out of his home and hurried down the stairs. The streets were chaotic, littered with debris and filled with the sounds of panic.Ash didn't hesitate. He had one goal.

He had to find the Death Train.

Normally, one would think of going to a train station. But Ash knew better.

The Death Train did not appear at a fixed location.

In his previous life, he had been like everyone else—terrified beyond reason when the apocalypse began. He had been lucky: fleeing from zombies, he had hidden in a mall's underground parking garage for two days.Starving, he ventured out to search for food and had found the Death Train platform inside a supermarket.

But the supermarket was not the only boarding point. Some boarded from shopping centers, others from hidden corners of residential buildings. There was no way to know in advance.

All Ash could do was check the supermarket first.

A scream snapped him out of his thoughts.

From a side alley, a young, attractive woman stumbled into view. She fell at Ash's feet, her right hand covered in blood as it clutched his ankle.

Ash's eyes quickly scanned her back.A deep scratch marked her skin.He raised his nail gun.

Bam. Bam. Bam.

Nails sprayed from the gun, striking the woman in the head. Her eyes widened in disbelief, unable to comprehend the cruelty of the man before her.

"I… I'll haunt you even as a ghost!" she rasped.

Ash's voice was cold."I gave you a chance to survive. Otherwise, you'd have joined the monsters already."

The zombies carried a deadly virus. One bite, one infection, and a human would soon turn into the walking dead.Better to die than to become one of them.Ash would not allow a potential zombie near him.

Meanwhile, more zombies stumbled out from the alley. They had been chasing the woman, but now their attention shifted to Ash.

Ash raised his nail gun and fired again.

In the blink of an eye, one zombie's head was riddled with nails like a grotesque porcupine before it collapsed to the ground.

Another lunged at him.Ash slammed the butt of his gun forward, knocking it off balance, drew a combat knife, and plunged it deep into its throat.

Everything happened in a flash—two zombies taken down almost simultaneously.

Then the last one charged.

Ash dropped backward to the ground, rolling slightly, and lifted his wrist just as the zombie snapped at him.Its teeth sank into his forearm, but the bite couldn't pierce his clothing.

"Die!"

Ash shoved the nail gun into the drooling creature's mouth. He fired, and nails shot through its skull, sending it sprawling to the ground.

Chaos reigned across the street.Blood, screams, and the smell of decay filled the air.Ash Leon had survived another encounter, but he knew this was only the beginning.

The world had changed. The apocalypse had arrived. And the Death Train—their only hope—waited somewhere out there.

Ash tightened his grip on the nail gun.He had to find it.He had to survive.
