When they first saw the Yardratians, it wasn't just Bulma and the others who were stunned—even Vegeta, who already knew about them, couldn't help but feel surprised.
He had originally thought there were only two or three types of Yardratians.
But now that he was seeing them up close, there were clearly four or five different forms.
It had to be said—this was truly astonishing.
On most planets, even if countless lifeforms existed, only one intelligent race would dominate the planet's development.
Take the Saiyans, for example. Saiyans were Saiyans—there wouldn't be multiple similar races all sharing the same civilization.
Even on planets where two or three intelligent species coexisted, it was impossible to reach the Yardratians' level: multiple forms, yet perfect coexistence.
Vegeta didn't clearly remember every detail about Yardrat from later events.
He only recalled that under the leadership of their Great Leader and Wise Elder Korin, the Yardratians developed steadily and peacefully.
As a race with unique abilities, the Yardratians were undeniably powerful.
Of course, this power usually ranged between several thousand and several tens of thousands.
There were rare Yardratians whose ki exceeded 100,000, but most were still ordinary citizens—though even their baseline strength far surpassed Earthlings, rarely falling below 100.
In that sense, they were similar to the Namekians.
However, in sheer numbers, the Yardratians outnumbered the Namekians by thousands of times.
For an ordinary invading force, attacking such a planet would be extremely difficult.
Even if the Ginyu Force had truly come, they would likely have ended up fleeing in disgrace.
"What are they saying?" Bulma asked nervously, standing close to Vegeta.
"I can't understand anything at all. Is there a language barrier?"
Hearing the strange sounds around her, Bulma instinctively felt uneasy.
The Yardratians looked bizarre, and their gazes felt unfriendly—as if they might suddenly attack.
Vegeta placed a hand over Bulma's and spoke calmly, reassuring her.
"It's not hard to guess. They're probably discussing whether we're enemies or friends, and why we came here. If they truly meant harm, they'd have attacked already instead of waiting."
"Some of them seem to be commenting on our appearance," Hera added awkwardly.
"They're pointing at us."
Several subordinates nodded, clearly thinking the same.
"It doesn't matter," Vegeta said indifferently.
"To us, their appearance is strange too. I've already located their leaders—there's no need to care about what the others think."
His gaze locked onto two distinct figures surrounded by guards in the distance.
Their body colors stood out clearly.
One of them matched Vegeta's memory perfectly—a blue, axolotl-like figure with two horns and long whiskers on his cheeks.
There was no mistaking it.
Those two were their leaders.
As if sensing his gaze, the two Yardratians stepped forward, followed by their guards.
One was broad-shouldered with a stern expression.
The other was slightly plump, with a lazy, half-asleep demeanor.
"I am Pibama, Great Leader of the Yardratians."
"I am Korin, Wise Elder of the Yardratians."
"Our planet has never engaged in foreign relations," Pibama said solemnly.
"State your purpose for coming to Planet Yardrat."
"We welcome friends from afar," Korin added calmly, "but we do not fear enemies either."
Their words made their stance clear.
They could be friends—or enemies.
Bulma and Hera felt a little intimidated. These people were numerous, organized, and clearly not easy to deceive.
Vegeta, however, smiled faintly.
"We're not enemies," he said directly.
"I came here because I wish to learn several special techniques unique to your race."
His blunt honesty immediately reduced their suspicion.
The surrounding Yardratians erupted into chatter, speaking rapidly in their own language rather than the universal tongue.
Yardratian, like Namekian, was extremely difficult to pronounce and nearly impossible for outsiders to learn without a special legacy.
"You claim to be peaceful," Pibama said cautiously, "yet your Spirit carries traces of blood and destruction. How do you explain that?"
"Spirit?" Vegeta paused—then immediately understood.
To the Yardratians, Spirit meant ki.
"I don't need to prove anything," Vegeta said calmly.
"If I wanted to act, your entire race combined wouldn't be enough to stop me."
As he spoke, Vegeta released his ki.
After half a month of training, his base power had risen to eight to nine million.
The moment it burst forth, it was like a violent storm.
The pressure alone made everyone freeze.
Even Pibama and Korin broke into cold sweat.
This level of Spirit was utterly beyond anything they had ever encountered.
"Respected strong one…" Pibama said hurriedly, lowering his head.
"This power is far beyond our imagination."
The sudden shift in attitude was astonishingly pragmatic.
Vegeta finally understood—
Despite their strength, the Yardratians were fundamentally a cautious and timid race.
In the original history, they avoided the outside world precisely because they feared unnecessary risks.
Yet their knowledge of the universe was astonishingly deep—how they gathered it remained a mystery.
"I believe your arrival bears no ill intent," Korin said calmly.
"Through precognition, I have seen fragments of your past and future. You are a benefactor to our race—one who prevented our planet from suffering invasion."
Those words shocked everyone.
Precognition—seeing the past and future.
Bulma gasped.
"Wait—people can actually do that?!"
For an ordinary person like her, this was almost unimaginable.
Korin's eyes glimmered faintly.
"I have also glimpsed your past and future," he said, looking at Bulma.
"You will be a noble figure to our Yardratian race."
"Me?!" Bulma froze, eyes sparkling with excitement.
Vegeta was just as stunned internally.
That powerful?
Compared to this, even the Namekian Grand Elder's foresight felt limited.
The Yardratians truly deserved their reputation as an overpowered race.
All their abilities were self-developed through Spirit cultivation.
This realization made Vegeta even more certain—
Kakarot's smooth learning of Instant Transmission in the original timeline wasn't luck.
The Yardratians had already seen the threads of cause and effect.
Under Pibama and Korin's invitation, Vegeta and the others entered the most luxurious palace on Yardrat.
A welcoming banquet was held.
The food looked strange—but tasted surprisingly good.
The drinks, made from precious fruits and holy spring water, were said to enhance the body's absorption of natural Spirit.
Hearing that, Vegeta was stunned.
They can even sense the ki of nature itself…
That was essentially life energy—the same principle behind the Spirit Bomb.
"So," Korin asked lazily during the banquet, "you came all this way just to learn Instant Transmission?"
"If your Spirit cultivation is this strong," Pibama added puzzledly, "you should already be able to learn it on your own."
Vegeta resisted the urge to retort.
Instead, he replied calmly, "I wish to receive proper guidance. And not just Instant Transmission—also Spirit Absorption and Spirit Fission."
Korin nodded.
"These techniques can be taught. But aside from Instant Transmission, the others aren't easy to master."
"Because of you," Pibama added, "our race avoided invasion by Frieza. If you're willing to stay, I'll personally guide your training."
"I can't stay long," Vegeta replied, glancing at Bulma.
"One or two months at most."
"I don't mind," Bulma smiled.
"It's a perfect chance to enjoy Yardrat's scenery."
As the banquet ended, Bulma leaned closer to Korin, curiosity written all over her face.
"Um… you said you saw my future earlier. What kind of future is it?"
"I cannot tell you," Korin replied honestly.
"If I do, the future will change."
Bulma pouted, then whispered, "Just tell me one thing—who my future husband is."
Korin looked at her… then at Vegeta.
"Isn't he standing right beside you?"
The words echoed clearly.
Bulma's face instantly turned red.
"W-What?! I—I—No! I—I'm going back to the ship!!"
She fled in embarrassment.
Korin blinked lazily.
Was I wrong?
