As the battle dragged on, King Cold and Goku continued to shift across the battlefield, eventually reaching this area.
Of course, to beings at their level, this distance meant nothing.
"Next, it's the main course," King Cold muttered, preparing to act.
Suddenly—
The ocean below, which should have been calm, began to twist into a massive vortex. It expanded rapidly.
In the next instant, a terrifying force erupted, churning the sea and shaking every island within range.
"Damn Wild Monkey—are you still not dead?!" King Cold snarled, his expression dark.
This Saiyan was unbelievably troublesome.
Just as he raised his hand to fire another energy blast, a sharp instinctive warning surged through him. He dodged instantly.
The next second, a crimson energy beam shot out of the vortex, piercing straight through the sky.
King Cold was forced back, shock flashing in his eyes.
"How is this possible?! He still has this much power? Wait… could it be—?!"
A terrifying thought surfaced, dredging up ancient memories buried deep within his mind.
Before he could dwell on them—
"HAAAAAAAH!!!"
Goku's furious roar tore through the clouds, echoing in all directions.
His power climbed continuously, completely surpassing his previous 52.5 million combat power.
Bathed in crimson light, Goku rose into the sky, quickly reaching the same height as King Cold.
A bad premonition seized King Cold's heart.
"Our battle isn't over yet!!" Goku shouted.
Without giving King Cold time to respond, Goku clenched his teeth and roared again:
"Kaio-ken—TWENTY TIMES!!"
The crimson pillar of light collapsed inward, and Goku's aura exploded outward, far denser and more violent than before.
The blinding red glow was so intense that even King Cold had trouble looking directly at it.
Before he could react—
BAM!
Goku's punch slammed into King Cold's face, violently distorting it.
Then another punch smashed into his abdomen.
King Cold doubled over, drool spilling from his mouth, his eyes bloodshot.
The third blow followed immediately—Goku clasped his hands together and brought them down like a hammer, sending King Cold flying.
After the three-hit combo, Goku didn't pursue. Instead, he gritted his teeth, desperately stabilizing his aura, forcing it even higher.
Still not enough… far from enough!
"Kaio-ken… TWENTY-FIVE TIMES!!"
A suppressed groan tore from his throat.
Goku's body visibly expanded, veins bulging as his power surged.
If he hadn't already adapted to 100× gravity, and if his body hadn't been tempered over the past two days, he would have exploded on the spot.
His combat power skyrocketed—from 70 million to 87.5 million.
Locking onto King Cold—who had just barely regained his balance—Goku vanished in a streak of crimson light.
King Cold raised his guard instinctively, but Goku feinted and then unleashed a fully charged punch straight into his jaw.
Blood sprayed into the air as King Cold was blasted skyward.
"Take this—Kamehameha!!!"
Goku seized the opening, cupping his hands as all his power converged.
A beam powerful enough to shatter Planet Namek erupted, swallowing King Cold completely.
Goku poured everything into the attack, pushing it deep into space before finally collapsing from exhaustion.
"Ha… ha… ha…"
The Kaio-ken released.
Weakness and agony flooded his body all at once.
At the very last moment, Goku had forced Kaio-ken ×30—if only for an instant.
The backlash was devastating.
"Damn it… I pushed past my limits… and I still couldn't… beat you…"
Barely conscious, Goku landed on a fragment of a shattered island.
In the sky, King Cold emerged—battered, scorched—but still standing, his arms crossed.
Goku's ultimate attack had injured him badly, but it still hadn't been enough.
King Cold's face twisted with rage.
"Damn it… damn it… DAMN IT!!!"
Veins bulged across his body as he trembled violently.
How many years had it been since he'd suffered injuries like this?!
In a furious burst, King Cold dove down.
Goku was slammed away effortlessly.
In his current state, he couldn't dodge—his body simply couldn't move.
King Cold caught him by the neck, dragging him brutally across the ground.
The pain made Goku wish for death.
It was just like his fight with Vegeta long ago—completely crushed.
"This time, this King will erase you completely!" King Cold snarled.
He lifted Goku with one hand while gathering a dense, lethal energy sphere with the other.
This was meant to be the final blow.
Goku's limbs hung limp, a bitter smile forming at the corner of his mouth.
So this is it…
He closed his eyes.
Then—
BOOM!
A violent impact echoed.
The grip on his neck vanished, and Goku felt himself caught by someone else.
Explosions followed in rapid succession.
"Dad! Dad!!"
Goku forced his eyes open.
Gohan.
In that brief instant, Goku understood—his son had unleashed terrifying power, knocking King Cold away and saving him.
"I'm fine… thank you, Gohan," Goku whispered weakly.
Gohan immediately carried him away, rushing toward Dende for healing. The Senzu Beans were completely forgotten.
Goku remembered—but he couldn't even speak clearly anymore.
Just then—
BOOM!!!
Another explosion thundered behind them.
King Cold's furious roar echoed.
"Damn brat! Don't think you can escape!!"
A planet-destroying energy blast surged forward.
At Gohan's speed, dodging was impossible.
Krillin and Nail panicked—but they were powerless.
Bulma froze in terror.
Only Vegeta remained calm.
He moved.
Even at his speed, he arrived at the very last moment.
Golden energy flared as Vegeta activated the Super Saiyan energy pool within him, unleashing a full-powered sweep that sent the attack flying into the sky.
Gohan and Goku both exhaled in relief.
"Don't get in the way," Vegeta snapped. "Take Kakarot to get treated."
"Y-Yes!" Gohan replied, snapping out of it and fleeing immediately.
Vegeta didn't turn around.
He faced King Cold alone.
The Super Saiyan energy pool surged, allowing him to release tens of millions of combat power without transforming, preventing suppression.
"Hmph. Vegeta," King Cold sneered cautiously.
"Are you trying to stop this King from killing that Wild Monkey?"
He didn't attack immediately.
Vegeta had just deflected his full-power strike.
By now, King Cold had realized—Vegeta's power was no weaker than Goku's earlier.
"So what?" Vegeta taunted.
"The game's over. Don't you want to fight me? Don't you want to know how your son died?"
King Cold's face darkened.
"Then let this King witness your power!" he roared. "I won't show mercy!"
Vegeta smirked.
"Then watch closely."
His aura climbed.
"Watch me become what your race fears most—a Super Saiyan."
"What?!" King Cold gasped.
Golden ki erupted.
Vegeta transformed at will—golden hair, blue eyes, blazing aura.
He stood like a god of war, forcing all evil to retreat.
King Cold staggered backward in shock.
"Scared already?" Vegeta sneered, stepping closer. "You weren't like this a moment ago, Cold."
King Cold snarled, forcing his fear down.
"So this is the power you used to kill Frieza?"
"You already know the answer," Vegeta replied calmly. "You'll be joining him soon."
King Cold exploded into motion.
Despite his massive size, he was nothing more than a walking collection of flaws to Vegeta now.
Vegeta dodged effortlessly, mocking him with every movement.
"Former Emperor of the Universe… is this all you've got?"
"How dare you—DIE!!!" King Cold roared.
He attacked relentlessly—but every blow missed.
Worse, he was being forced back.
Finally, King Cold retreated more than ten meters, drenched in cold sweat.
"This… this is impossible…"
In the distance, near the spaceship, Dende healed Goku.
His strength rose again—over four million.
It wasn't a huge leap, but still a terrifying improvement.
"So this is a Super Saiyan…" Goku murmured, sensing Vegeta's aura.
Krillin smiled. "One day, you'll reach it too."
Goku nodded faintly.
"I almost lost myself earlier… I can't do that again."
Back in the sky—
Vegeta looked down at King Cold.
"One hundred million. That's your limit," he said coldly.
"You made me wait for nothing."
King Cold trembled.
Absolute despair took hold.
"Now—taste my attack."
