"You'd better not screw it up," Vegeta replied coldly, arms crossed as he returned to Bulma's side.
"That punch I gave him really pissed him off."
Vegeta had struck earlier simply because King Cold was too arrogant to tolerate.
Now that Goku and the others had used that opening to wipe out the enemy forces, it created the perfect stage for this duel.
Still, Vegeta had already judged the outcome.
It would be extremely difficult for Goku to defeat King Cold.
Even 3.5 million base power multiplied by Kaio-ken ×20—about 70 million—was still short.
Unless Goku pushed beyond twenty times.
But even then, it would only be a brief burst, no different from his original fight against Frieza—enough to cause pain, but not enough to finish the job.

A distant island suddenly exploded.
An overwhelming, evil aura surged outward like a vast net, sweeping across Planet Namek.
King Cold had finally lost his patience.
The punch from Vegeta earlier had delayed him far longer than expected. If his body weren't strong enough, that blow would have seriously injured him.
He now understood—
Vegeta's combat power was nowhere near the 180,000 reported by Captain Ginyu.
It had likely exceeded one million, perhaps even several million.
Which meant that even without transforming into a Great Ape, Vegeta could easily kill Frieza in his base form.
"So that's it… that's how it is!" King Cold roared as he emerged from the smoke.
"I was wondering how Frieza could have given you time to transform! You were hiding this much power all along!"
His aura expanded to the extreme, darkening Namek's skies.
Its intensity had already surpassed fifty million.
Even Vegeta grew serious.
At this level, a single mistake could mean instant death for everyone present.
"Hehehe… Vegeta," King Cold sneered.
"This King is truly curious. How did you become this strong? Did you eat some rare treasure that boosts combat power?"
He wasn't worried about being ambushed again.
As for his subordinates—Mozart included—he didn't care in the slightest.
Useless trash had no value.
Vegeta shook his head, unimpressed. King Cold's words briefly reminded him of the Fruit of the Tree of Might from the movies.
Does something like that exist in this world?
"Enough nonsense," Vegeta said coldly. "Your opponent is Kakarot. Beat him first, then come talk to me."
King Cold's eyes shifted to Goku.
A thought crossed his mind.
"You killed Mozart easily… your power isn't far below Vegeta's," he said with amusement.
"How about this? Work for me. Kill Vegeta, the Saiyan prince, and you'll become King of the Saiyans. Rank second only to me, command millions, and I'll even give you planets."
Goku raised his aura fully, ready to activate Kaio-ken at any moment.
"Your offer sounds tempting," he replied calmly, "but I'm not interested in working for an evil bastard like you."
"What a pity," King Cold sighed. "Then I'll kill you first—and wipe out everyone else."
"Then come on!" Goku shouted, taking a fighting stance.
The battle began.
King Cold flung his cape aside and shot forward like a cannonball.
"So fast!" Goku's pupils shrank.
A crimson aura burst around him as he instantly activated Kaio-ken ×10, but even then, he couldn't dodge in time.
He crossed his arms.
Boom!!!
The impact sent Goku flying like a meteor.
Before he could recover, King Cold raised his hand and fired a massive energy blast.
BOOM——!!!
Several islands shattered instantly.
"This King gave you a chance," King Cold said coldly. "But you were too arrogant."
He turned toward Vegeta.
"Now it's just you and me. Tell me—how do you want to die?"
Vegeta laughed out loud.
King Cold's killing intent surged.
"What's so funny?!"
"I'm laughing at how stupid you are," Vegeta sneered. "You don't actually think you killed Kakarot with that, do you?"
King Cold froze.
Then—
A furious roar erupted.
The flames and smoke were blown away by a violent storm of energy.
Goku emerged, wrapped in blood-red light.
He had activated a barrier at the last moment.
Kaio-ken ×15. 52.5 million combat power.
This was the maximum state he could maintain for an extended fight.
"The real battle—starts now!" Goku roared.
He shot forward like a crimson meteor.
Even King Cold was stunned.
By the time he reacted—
BAM!
Goku's punch landed.
The impact sent King Cold flying.
"It's not over!" Goku shouted, attacking relentlessly.
Punches and kicks rained down, each one lethal.
King Cold's body endured immense damage. His cape was shredded, his imperial composure completely gone.
"Damn it, you wretched monkey!" King Cold roared in fury.
His pride shattered, he unleashed even more power, forcing Goku back.
Still—
Even with Kaio-ken ×15, it wasn't enough.
The gap became clear.
On the sidelines, Krillin's face darkened.
"Even Kaio-ken at this level isn't enough… damn it."
"I believe in Dad," Gohan said stubbornly. "He still has more power!"
Nail fell silent.
Only Super Saiyan…
On North Kai's Planet, North Kai, Piccolo, Tien Shinhan, Yamcha, Chiaotzu, Bubbles, and Gregory watched grimly.
"Even at this level, Goku can't win," North Kai sighed. "Unless… Super Saiyan."
Back on Namek—
King Cold resumed his brutal assault.
Islands shattered.
Goku was slammed into the depths of the sea.
Energy waves rained down relentlessly.
Finally, King Cold hovered above the destruction.
"This time, it's over," he said coldly. "This is what happens when you challenge a king."
He turned—
And looked toward Vegeta.
The battlefield fell silent once more.
