"Yeah, I will remember. Don't worry, I will bring it tomorrow. " Kaira said on a phone with a smile. As she waited for the traffic lights to change.
As soon as it changed, she walked to cross the road, appearing to be in a hurry. Suddenly, a car, as if losing control, sped up.
Panic spread as some people recorded, while some called the police and ambulance.
Blood and broken glass were spread around the road. The car hit the pole.
"Hello... Kai? Are you there?..." a woman's voice filled with panic sounded from her phone.
Kaira lay there in her blood. She could see blurry figures and fragmented sound.
As she slipped into darkness, she felt regret. Thinking of all her dreams and things she wanted to experience.
"If the cub wasn't a female, you could have been dead. You filthy feral..." An arrogant voice sounded. It felt near as well as far.
"Stop it, let him go. We can't afford anything happening to her. " another voice said, calmer but authoritative.
"Hmph" the man voice sounded again.
Then she felt a cold but comforting embrace. She felt a sense of security.
She felt sleepy. She slowly drifted to sleep.
She woke up and then fell asleep. Every time, there was silence, but the cold embrace was present. Giving her comfort.
At first, she felt many intense emotions, but slowly she calmed down.
Her memories are starting to feel like it was distant memories.
She was now a snake. Fortunately, she could transform into a human later.
She learned many things as her new father talked to her.
He talks about a lot of things.
Today felt different.
At first, when she found out she was in an egg she had been afraid to move as she didn't want to break the eggshell.
But later, she heard her father cry as he asked if she was sick or weak.
She then started to move a bit every day.
"Today is the day." Her father, whose name is Aeron, said.
She then felt he was softly pressing her eggshell.
She became excited. She pressed her head on the eggshells as she made a small tear with difficulty.
She tried to go out by squeezing in the tear.
"Impatient little female." Aeron said with a small laugh. He then carefully removed the eggshell.
Kaira felt her father's care as he helped her remove the eggshell.
She felt a soft cloth wiping her. She then slowly opened her eyes.
At first, everything looked blurry, then it became clearer.
She saw her father. He was handsome. He had Long black hair with amber eyes.
"My child, your name will be Ardis. You got my eyes, your mother will be happy to see it." Aeron said, smiling.
He then carefully put her on a fur and took a bowl.
Aeron took a spoonful of the soup. Blowing it to cool it. Feeling it was the right amount of heat. Bringing it close to her.
She looked at the soup. She backed away a bit, seeing the reflection. She saw a small snake with red in colour with amber coloured eyes.
Aeron, thinking she was scared due to the reflection, laughed.
Kaira, now Ardis felt a bit embarrassed. She then slowly took a sip.
'Tasty!' she thought as she gulped all the soup down.
Aeron fed her carefully till she was full. Leaving after she was asleep.
Aeron started to weave a basket. Ardis's new transportation.
Ardis woke up hungry again. Aeron had already cooked.
He fed her, then let her sleep. It continued for a week.
"My child, are you ready to meet your mother?" Aeron said as he fed her.
'Mother?' Ardis thought. She wanted to meet her.
What does she look like? Will she like me?
"She will love you. Don't worry. She is a kind female.", Aeron said as he slowly massaged her bulging stomach to help her digest.
Aeron carefully put her in the basket, layered with fur.
Ardis peeked from the basket. Showing her small head. The place she stayed was like an underground room. The fire was always burning brightly in the room.
Aeron looked at the hole above as he lightly jumped. Ardis was shocked as her father effortlessly jumped out of the hole like it was nothing.
'My daddy is strong.' Ardis thought. She looked around. It was another room. She looked outside. It was bright. She was warm due to the sunlight touching her.
A burly man came in. He had red hair and blue eyes. He had fox ears on top of his head with a tail. He coldly looked at Aeron, his eyes softening looking at Ardis.
"Astra is waiting for you. She must be the cub?" He asked, looking at Ardis.
"Yes, I will show her now." Aeron said calmly.
"Hmph, so arrogant." A man entered, looking similar to the previous man. Not only did he look arrogant, but he also spoke arrogantly.
Ardis didn't like the way he spoke to her father. She hissed at him.
"Enough! he is one of us now, Sylas." The burly man said to the arrogant man.
Sylas just glared and looked away. Then peaked at Ardis.
"She must be my daughter. Let me look at her." Sylas said with a curious expression and hidden expectation.
Aeron let him look inside the basket.
"The cub looks pretty. She got Astra's fur color." Sylas said with an excited voice.
"I need to go now. Astra is waiting for me." Aeron said proudly. As he walked out of the room. Heading toward another room.
Ardis looked at her father as he looked nervous. He hesitated in front of a curtain.
"Aeron, why are you hesitating. Do you not miss me?" a beautiful voice sounded from the room.
Aeron opened the curtain as he entered the room. There lay a beautiful woman.
With her dark red hair and green eyes. She had fox ears and a tail.
She smiled at them.
