Three months after earth's final defeat, everything became normal again. Nyx was finally free. But freedom felt strange after months of surveillance and violation.
"I keep waiting for the next attack." She admitted to both of them. "I keep expecting earth to find new way to reach me."
"That's normal trauma response. It'll take time but you'll be fine." Umbra said.
Gradually, days became weeks, weeks became months without any earth contact. The fear didn't disappear but it became manageable.
Nyx split her time between them carefully. Three nights per week with Raziel, two nights with Umbra, and two nights alone to process her feelings. Raziel got more time because the bond made their relationship more strong.
"Is that fair?" Umbra asked when the schedule was formalized. "You get more nights because you're bonded?"
"Three nights with Raziel balances two with you because the bond makes our time more emotionally intensive. You get quality over quantity."
