The second session, three days later, started differently. Umbra arrived carrying shadow flowers.
"For both of you."
Raziel stared at the flowers in his hands, not expecting a gift from someone pursuing his mate.
"Thank you. They're… unusual." He replied.
"They are shadow blooms. They grow in my realm, and feed on darkness rather than light. I thought they suited both of you, Nyx because she's developing shadow affinity, you because you're facing your fears instead of avoiding them." Umbra sat on his chair and poured wine again. "How have you both been since our last session?"
"Confused." Nyx admitted. "The session went well, but I don't know what successful trial sessions are supposed to feel like."
"There's no script." Umbra said. "Confusion is normal."
"How have you been?" Raziel asked, surprising them all.
"Hopeful, and anxious. I keep expecting you to realize you can't handle this and end everything."
