Raziel stood up, fully shifted now.
"You want to use her, manipulate her into some terrible choice that serves your agenda."
"I just want to give her the power." Umbra replied calmly. "Most people never get that opportunity. Nyx gets to be the hand that moves pieces."
"Fuck your games." Nyx said, standing as well. "Just tell us who's leading The Culled? Where are they really operating from? How do we stop the attacks?"
"I can't. And even if I could, I wouldn't. Because stopping these attacks without addressing the issues just delays the inevitable. Eventually, something worse will happen."
"Children are going to die." Nyx's voice shook with rage.
Through the bond, Nyx felt Raziel was about to attack. She grabbed his arm, stopping him.
"We're leaving. You're useless." Nyx said.
"Am I?" Umbra smiled. "I told you the truth about the Beastworld and your parents."
"Knowing history won't stop murders."
