Chapter 29: Lights, Cameras, Family

Jay's POV:

The morning of the event arrived with a storm of flashing cameras and buzzing phones. Even before we reached the venue, the media frenzy was palpable. Headlines screamed: "Watson Marriage Crisis? Cheating Rumors?" and "No Children After a Month-Scandal or Secret?"

I gripped Keifer's hand tightly as we stepped out of the car. Kaiz was perched on Keifer's shoulders, waving at the photographers with innocent enthusiasm, completely oblivious to the chaos.

"Don't let him be a headline," I whispered, brushing my lips against Keifer's arm.

Keifer smirked down at me, fingers curling around mine. "He's too adorable. No one can resist him. And neither can I." His words carried a warmth that made my heart squeeze, and I felt the tiniest flutter in my stomach-the same one that always reminded me how much I wanted him.

Inside the venue, cameras clicked like thunder, reporters shouting questions. Keifer stepped forward, shielding Kaiz with his body as he pulled me closer. "Let's do this together," he murmured.

Kaiz suddenly jumped down, racing toward a group of reporters. "Look at my castle!" he shouted, holding up a Lego creation he had brought along. The crowd erupted into laughter, and even the sternest photographers couldn't help but smile. Keifer scooped him up instantly, brushing hair off his face.

The press tried to circle us, but Keifer held a protective hand over my back. "We will answer questions," he said firmly, voice cutting through the chaos. "But first, meet my son." He lifted Kaiz, holding him up proudly. "Kaiz Watson. Our family."

Kaiz waved enthusiastically, squealing, "I have two parents now!"

The room melted. Cameras flashed, the tension slightly diffused, and for a heartbeat, everything felt like it belonged to us-our family, united.

Then came the questions about the marriage, about rumors, about children.

"Mr. Watson, is there trouble in your marriage?" one reporter demanded.

Keifer's gaze sharpened, settling on me for a fraction of a second before turning back. "There's no trouble. Our marriage is strong, built on trust, love, and family. And as for children we have Kaiz..." He smiled, leaning toward me. "We're taking things one day at a time."

I felt a heat rise to my cheeks at the hint in his voice, the subtle possessiveness, the way he looked at me like I was the only person in the room that mattered.

Kaiz yawned loudly, nuzzling into my side. "I'm sleepy, Mumma," he murmured. I bent down, pressing a quick kiss to his forehead.

"Then we'll go home soon, little man," I said, and Keifer added softly, "Home is where we are together. That's the only place that matters."

After the questions, we finally made our way to a quieter corner. Keifer pressed a gentle kiss to my temple, brushing a strand of hair behind my ear. "You're amazing," he murmured. "Every day, you amaze me."

I glanced up at him, heart racing. "We've been through so much... all of this," I gestured toward the media frenzy, "and we still have each other."

Keifer's lips found mine in a slow, deliberate kiss, hands holding my face tenderly. The world around us blurred-the flashing cameras, the shouting reporters, Kaiz tugging at our sleeves-none of it mattered. This kiss was ours, soft but full of promise, an unspoken hint at nights spent wrapped around each other, at the intimacy that had become our secret language.

Kaiz tugged at my sleeve, breaking the moment. "Mumma, I want to go home and play!"

Keifer laughed, lifting Kaiz onto his hip. "Our little boss always gets his way." He winked at me, the same teasing sparkle that made my knees weak.

As we left the venue, Kaiz asleep in Keifer's arms, I felt the weight of the world lift slightly. Yes, the media would spin their stories, the rumors would fly, but inside this car, inside our home, we had our family.

Keifer's hand found mine again, fingers intertwining. "Tomorrow, we face the world," he whispered. "But tonight... just us."

I leaned my head against his shoulder, closing my eyes. Kaiz stirred slightly, murmuring, "Mumma... Papa... love you," before drifting back to sleep.

Keifer kissed the top of my head, whispering softly, "And I love both of you more than anything. Soon, we'll have even more to love."

My heart skipped a beat. A hint of what was coming-our future, our own little baby-was wrapped in that quiet moment. The media could scream, rumors could fly, but inside, our family was already whole.

And as the city lights blurred past the car window, I realized that for the first time since the chaos began, I felt an unshakable calm. Our love, our family, and our little miracles-Kaiz and the ones yet to come-were ours. And no scandal, no headline, no gossip could ever take that away.
