Chapter 28: Family, Chaos, and Quiet Promises

Jay's POV:

The morning sunlight spilled through the floor-to-ceiling windows, painting the living room in gold. Kaiz was already up, his tiny feet thumping against the wooden floor as he zoomed across the room with his toy race car.

"Kaiz! Slow down, or you'll crash into the table!" I called, reaching to scoop him up, but he darted around me, giggling like a little whirlwind.

"You can't catch me, Mumma!" he squealed, squeaking the car along the floor.

I laughed, chasing him until he finally let me scoop him into my arms. His sticky little hands clung to my shoulders. "Mumma, Daddy's awake?"

I peeked toward the bedroom doorway, and my heart skipped a beat. Keifer was leaning casually against the frame, one hand tucked into his pocket, the other holding his coffee. The moment our eyes met, his lips curled into that teasing smirk that always made me weak.

"I think your son has more energy than the entire city," he said dryly, though his eyes softened as they settled on Kaiz.

"I think your son has more energy than both of us combined," I countered, lowering Kaiz onto the floor. Kaiz immediately ran toward Keifer, arms flailing. "Papa!"

Keifer's stern expression melted instantly as he lifted Kaiz into his arms. "Morning, little man," he cooed, ruffling Kaiz's hair. "Did you sleep well?"

"Best night ever! Mumma let me sleep with her," Kaiz said proudly, earning a pointed glance from Keifer.

"Your Mumma lets me sleep with her too," Keifer replied, with a faint smirk, leaning closer.

I felt my cheeks heat up, but Kaiz wasn't done. "And Papa held me and Mumma both. We're strong together!"

Keifer chuckled, his eyes flicking toward mine with a subtle intensity that made my heart skip. That look—the one that said, tonight will be our night—made me swallow hard.

Breakfast was a chaotic symphony of spilled cereal, Kaiz's squeals, and our laughter. Keifer kept stealing glances at me, brushing crumbs off my sleeve, adjusting my hair, lingering just a second too long near my lips. Every small touch, every little smile, was a promise, a reminder of the bond we had forged in such a short month.

After breakfast, Kaiz insisted on playing outside while Keifer and I tried to clean up the living room.

"You're too gentle," he muttered when I flinched at the weight of a vase. "Are you trying to get me to do everything for you?"

"Maybe I am," I teased, wiggling my eyebrows. "Maybe I like it when you fuss over me."

He grabbed my hands, pressing them against his chest for a heartbeat too long. "I like it when you let me."

I felt a shiver run through me. Kaiz's laughter from the yard broke the tension, and Keifer leaned closer, brushing his lips against mine for a fleeting kiss, soft and sweet.

A whisper of intimacy that made my pulse race, reminding me of the nights we had spent wrapped around each other, the closeness that hinted at more, at us.

Kaiz's voice interrupted our moment. "Mumma! Papa! Look! I built a castle!"

We turned to see our little prince standing proudly beside a towering Lego fortress. Keifer crouched down to his level, eyes alight. "That's incredible, buddy. You're a master builder."

I laughed, crouching beside them. "A family of builders, I see. Papa, Mumma, and Kaiz—team unstoppable."

Keifer draped an arm around my shoulder, pressing a kiss to my temple. "And don't forget, I'm in charge of snacks," he whispered, his lips grazing my ear. I shivered, and Kaiz squealed in protest, thinking we were playing.

By midday, the tranquility was shattered by the sudden buzz of my phone. I grimaced, reading the notifications. Jay Watson and Keifer Watson: Married, No Children, Cheating Rumors! The headlines screamed at me from every angle. The media had dug up every rumor they could.

"Seriously?" I groaned, tossing the phone on the sofa. Kaiz, oblivious, was building a moat around his Lego castle.

Keifer appeared behind me, his jaw tight. "I saw. Tomorrow, we go public. The day after, the event. We clear everything. No one messes with our family."

I nodded, brushing Kaiz's hair off his forehead. "I just… I don't want him to see all the chaos outside. He's our world."

Keifer kissed the top of my head, murmuring softly, "He already has two worlds—ours and his. And we protect both."

That night, Kaiz snuggled between us on the bed, finally asleep after a long day. Keifer held me close, his hands wandering in soft caresses that spoke volumes. His lips met mine in slow, teasing kisses, fingers tracing my jaw, whispering promises. The intimacy wasn't loud—it was private, quiet, but it left a trail of heat and longing in its wake, hinting at the life we were beginning to create together.

"Baby," he murmured against my lips, "our little miracle will come when it's meant to. Tonight, you just rest."

I nodded against him, the warmth of his chest beneath me, Kaiz breathing softly beside us. My heart ached with happiness, a complicated, beautiful ache. This was our family. Our chaos. Our love. And whatever the world outside said, we were untouchable here.

As sleep took me, I felt Keifer's lips brush my temple, his hand holding mine, and whispered, "I love you… all of you."

Kaiz murmured in his sleep, "Mumma… Papa… love you," and in that moment, our little family was perfect, ready to face whatever storms the world would throw at us next.

I know a lot of you think this is getting boring. But me personally? I like having peace before the end part.

If you dont like it then don't read it.
