Chapter 16 - The World Reacts

Triple-gravity rooms + battle-power scanners = a new era of absolute madness within the Beasts Pirates.

In the Great Pirate Age, weakness itself was a crime.

Now that a shortcut to strength existed, who wouldn't seize it?

Everywhere across Onigashima, the same spectacle unfolded:

pirates staggering into gravity rooms and crawling back out drenched in sweat.

It was ugly, exhausting, and utterly glorious—because every drop of sweat meant more power.

Soon, that power would shake the seas.

And the man who started it all, Luo Xing, wasn't idle either.

While his "system points" climbed ever higher, he returned home and smiled at his wife.

"Honey, it's our turn to train."

Yamato's eyes lit up immediately.

Beating up her old man had always been her lifelong goal.

"We're training in the gravity room?" she asked.

"Yes… and no," Luo Xing said, smiling mysteriously.

"I've actually combined the gravity chamber with another invention—the Time Room, where time flows differently.

Together, they'll multiply our progress far beyond everyone else's."

Yamato's pupils sparkled like stars.

"Husband, you're incredible!"

She planted a quick mua on his cheek, and the two stepped into the Time-Gravity Chamber.

Inside, Luo Xing handed her a piece of clothing.

"Here, change into this."

Yamato blinked, her face turning pink.

"This… this is that stretch-fit outfit you made earlier, right? Why do I have to wear it?"

"A-hem!" Luo Xing cleared his throat.

"It's purely practical. If you transform mid-training, I don't want your clothes getting ripped apart."

"Really?" she asked suspiciously.

"Of course it's really for training!" he said with a deadly-serious face.

"Alright then. I'll believe you."

The moment Yamato put it on, the form-fitting suit traced every perfect curve of her body.

For a brief instant, Luo Xing's brain blanked—she reminded him of a fitness instructor from his previous life.

"Let's… start training," he muttered, throat dry.

Meanwhile — At Marine Headquarters

Vegapunk's shocking conclusion—that Mutant Cells rival natural Devil Fruits—had just been reported by Sengoku to the upper brass: Garp, Tsuru, and the three Admirals.

Sengoku's goal was to find a strategy to counter the Beasts Pirates' sudden surge in power.

But before they could even come up with one, news of Tsuru's defeat at the hands of Ulti and Page One had already spread across the seas.

The world went wild.

Big Mom's Reaction — Whole Cake Island

When Katakuri finished his report, Big Mom froze mid-bite; the cake in her hand slipped to the floor.

"Cells that rival Devil Fruits?! That old beast Kaido's been hiding a treasure like that from me?!"

Her eyes gleamed, drool glistening at the corners of her mouth.

"If we get our hands on those Mutant Cells, Totto Land's strength will double overnight! Even Whitebeard won't be able to stand against me!

Ma-ma-ma-ma! That'd be delicious!"

Katakuri frowned.

"But Mama, the cells belong exclusively to the Beasts Pirates."

"Heh-heh, and Kaido still owes me a huge favor," Big Mom snapped, eyes narrowing dangerously.

"He wouldn't dare refuse me."

Whitebeard Pirates — Aboard the Moby Dick

First Division Commander Marco looked stunned.

"So these Mutant Cells can make an Ancient Zoan perform like a Mythical one?!"

As a Mythical Zoan user himself, he understood exactly how absurd that was.

Ancient Zoans and Mythical Zoans weren't even in the same league.

Whitebeard leaned back in his chair, stroking his mustache, his gaze thoughtful rather than surprised.

"The key isn't the cells," he rumbled.

"It's the man who invented them—Kaido's son-in-law, that young one called Luo Xing."

"Marco," he added, his tone deep and knowing,

"that man is the real problem."

Red Hair Pirates — The Same Realization

Across the New World, Shanks and Benn Beckman reached the same conclusion.

Both men were sharp enough to see through the smoke.

"This Luo Xing came out of nowhere," Beckman said, exhaling a ring of smoke.

"No records, no history… as if he just appeared overnight."

Shanks chuckled softly, though there was envy in his eyes.

"Where does Kaido find a son-in-law like that?

If I had someone like him on my crew—or as my daughter's husband—life'd be a lot easier."

A brief shadow crossed his expression as he thought of his own long-lost daughter.

He sighed quietly, gazing out over the sea.

The Underworld — Joker's Laugh

In the palace atop Dressrosa, Donquixote Doflamingo lounged on his throne, reading the reports with a grin.

Then came the trademark laugh that sent shivers down spines everywhere:

"Fuffuffuffu… so Kaido's turned to Mutant Cells, has he? Looks like my SMILEs are no longer enough for his little war games."

His sunglasses gleamed as he tilted his head back, strings faintly quivering in the air.

"Fuffuffuffu… The world's getting more interesting by the day."
