Chapter 49

Mack's hands roamed deliberately, sliding over the curve of her hips, up her back, grazing just enough to make her shiver, then dipping lower to press against her more intimately. Every touch was measured, teasing, making her ache for more.

"You feel… unreal," he murmured against her ear, his lips trailing fire along her neck. "Like I could lose myself in you and never want to find my way out."

Viola's breath hitched. Her fingers dug into the counter, trying to ground herself as heat pooled low, every nerve screaming for him. "M-Mack… please…" she whispered, voice trembling with need.

"Please what?" he teased, pressing closer, his hands skilled and relentless. "Say it."

"I… I need you," she confessed, her body arching back slightly into his, responding to every touch.

He groaned, a deep, low sound that vibrated through her. "That's more like it." His lips moved lower, pressing along her shoulder and side, trailing fire with every kiss. His hands continued to map her curves, teasing, pleasing, coaxing moans from her lips.

Vi's head fell forward, hair brushing the counter, as he bent slightly behind her, pressing his body fully against hers. The teasing became more insistent, more heated, every touch designed to drive her wild.

"You're mine," he murmured, voice low and possessive, lips brushing her ear. "Every inch, every sound—you're mine."

She gasped, hips shifting instinctively into him, pressing back as he drove her higher with every motion. The teasing, the heat, the way he worshipped her body—it all built an unstoppable tension until she could barely think, only feel.

Mack's hands gripped her hips, pressing her more firmly, lips descending to her neck, collarbone, every kiss leaving a trail of fire. "Tell me you want me," he demanded softly, and she couldn't resist.

"I want you… all of you," she breathed, voice shaking, eyes closed.

"Good," he whispered, a slow, satisfied smirk in his tone. "Because I'm not stopping until I've shown you exactly how much you're mine."

*------*-*-------*

Viola sat up in bed, hair messy from sleep, still wrapped in the soft fabric of Mack's shirt. She took a deep breath, steeling herself. Today was the day she would speak her heart, finally.

Mack was still sprawled across the bed, one arm tucked beneath his head, the other lazily brushing against her hip as he stirred. His eyes, heavy with sleep but sharp as ever, flicked toward her.

"Morning," he murmured, voice husky.

"Morning," she replied softly, tugging the hem of his shirt down over her shoulders. "Can we talk?"

He propped himself on one elbow, studying her intently. "Talk… or flirt?" His smirk tugged at her resolve, but she shook her head.

"Talk," she said firmly. "Seriously."

Mack's smirk softened, replaced by that intensity she had grown to both fear and crave. "Okay. Hit me."

Viola shifted closer, her fingers brushing his chest, heart pounding. "Mack… I've been thinking. About us. About… everything. And I realized… I want a life with you. No holding back. I don't want to wait anymore. I'm ready."

His eyes darkened with something between desire and relief. "You… you mean it?"

"Yes," she whispered, her hand finding his. "I've been scared before, but with you… I feel safe. I want to marry you, Mack. I want to say yes. Like you asked me… months ago."

Mack's grin broke slowly across his face, but there was that familiar dangerous edge lingering in his gaze. "Finally," he said, voice low, almost a growl. "Took you long enough."

Viola laughed, a little nervous, a little breathless. "I had to be sure. After everything… I can't just jump into it. But with you… I trust us."

Mack leaned in, capturing her lips in a deep, possessive kiss that made her knees weak. He pulled back just slightly, forehead resting against hers. "Vi… you have no idea how long I've waited to hear that. To know it's real. You… you're everything to me."

"I know," she whispered, touching his cheek. "And I want everything with you. No more holding back."

His hand trailed down to her waist, then along her back, keeping her close. "Good," he said, voice low and thrilling. "Because I don't plan on letting anyone—ever—come between us again."

Viola giggled, burying her face in his neck. "You're possessive as hell."

"And you love it," he replied, nipping gently at her earlobe, teasing and tender at once. "Now… how about we celebrate this 'yes' properly?"

Her pulse spiked, her cheeks flushed. "And how would we do that?"

Mack smirked, brushing a hand down her spine, the playful heat in his eyes undeniable. "Like we always do… slowly, deliberately… until you can't think straight."

Viola laughed softly, heart soaring. "I'm ready," she whispered, letting him pull her into his arms again, the morning sunlight catching the shine in her eyes as she surrendered fully to the man she had chosen.

Viola took a deep breath, her fingers intertwined with Mack's. "I… I'm ready," she whispered, eyes shining. "Ready for us, ready to build a life together. And… yes, I think we should get married—soon, like you asked the first time."

Mack's chest swelled with something fierce and tender all at once. He brushed a loose strand of hair from her face, his thumb tracing her cheek. "You have no idea how long I've waited to hear you say that," he murmured, voice low and full of heat. "No more holding back. No more running from us."

Viola smiled, leaning into him. The weight of past heartbreaks, the hesitation, the fears—they all seemed to melt away under the warmth of his arms. For the first time in a long time, she felt utterly, completely home.

Mack dipped his head, capturing her lips in a kiss that was gentle, but full of promise. His hands cradled her as if the world could disappear around them. When they finally pulled apart, he rested his forehead against hers.

"And just so you know," he whispered with a grin that made her pulse spike, "we're only getting started. You think this was intense? Wait until tonight…"

Viola laughed, heart fluttering, and hid her face against his chest. The quiet warmth of the moment, the playful tease lingering in the air—it was perfect.

And as Mack held her close, she knew one thing for certain: with him, her heart had finally found its home, and the adventure was far from over.
