Chapter 2: New family
"Ok just keep pushing, ma'am."
'What is going on?' Tone thought.
"Congrats, it is a baby girl!!"
'What do you mean it's a baby girl?! I'm still in here.' Tone said in a panic.
"Ah!! I think something else is still coming!" a new voice different from the one earlier said and it sounds like they're in pain.
I start to feel like I'm being squeezed from all sides. It is not painful but I don't like it.
"Oh my, you're right, my lady. A second one is coming out." said the lady's voice from earlier.
About 10 minutes later I was out and blinded by a bright ass light. I couldn't stop myself from crying.
'Fuck! I'm going to hate being a baby."
"Oh my, it seems this one is a boy." After she said that I felt myself being handed to someone else. It was at this time that I was able to open my eyes. It was then that I saw a lady with silky silver hair and ocean blue eyes with pale fair skin. She was quite the looker. I'm guessing she's my mom.
On the other side of my mom in her other arm was a baby with black hair and blue eyes and pale skin like my mom. I'm guessing that's my twin sister.
It was then that the door in the far side of the room opens and a man walks in.
"Honey, you're late." My mom said with a sweet voice that did not match her face at the moment.
The man, I'm guessing my dad, walks up to her "So we have twins. Boys or girls?" he said as he went to pick me up.
Looking at him he had black hair with amber eyes and ivory bronze skin. Not the best looking face but he's not ugly. I can only hope to get more of my mom's looks.
"One boy and this one a girl." The lady said with a bow.
"Oh, I see this one got his mom's hair but my eyes and skin tone." The dad said, as he spun around in a circle with me, "Ok your name is going to be Tone."
'Oh, I lucked out, my old nickname became my real name.'
"Oh, you're picking the name without addressing me?" mom said in an icy tone.
"Come on, Jade, we both know it's better than Johnathan." Dad said.
'Thanks for the save dad.'
"Fine, we'll name her Whisper."

It's been about 7 years since I've been reborn in this world and holy is it a lot different in this world than my last. First off at the age of 10 you go through an awakening that gives you a talent. I don't know much about this because whenever I ask mom or dad about it they just say you'll know with time with really sad faces and Then there's magic that is so normal that everybody can use it. Or at least the basic stuff called chore magic. If you want to learn better stuff you have to buy magic books which Cost an arm and a leg, or have someone who knows magic teach you. That being said, the best place to learn about magic is to go to one of the academy's. You can't enroll in one of them until you turn 16.
"Man, I can't wait to go there. I hope one of the boys goes there too." Tone says as he sits at a desk reading a book.
"Big bro, food's ready." A little boy with black hair and amber eyes comes running to tone.
"Ok, just one more page John and I'll make my way there." Tone replied to his little brother.
The little boy stayed by Tone's side and waited for him to be done.
"Ok let's go." Tone said as he picked his little brother up and headed down stairs to have dinner
"Yo mom, the food smells amazing." tone says as he puts his brother in his chair.
"Mom, don't buy into him, he just wants you to give him more food, fatty." Whisper says as she sticks her tongue out at him.
I stick my tongue out at her too. 'But honestly she's right we're not well off so any more food would be great.' Dad is a town guard so we are better off than most but mom and dad don't know how to stop making kids. So I have a two year old brother named Johnathan and there's one on the way. Dad is a little too potent.
After dinner, Tone and Whisper go out on the porch to wait for dad to come back home from work. It was night time so this was as far as we could go.
"I can't wait! Dad said he's going to bring us something from the merchants today, right? I wonder what it will be." Whisper asked.
"I don't know, but knowing him it's going to be something weird."
Tone looks out to the forest path where Paul, his dad, uses.
'It's still so weird that I can see this well in the dark. It might be because I "picked" darkness. "Oh, I see dad!"
"How can you see so far in the dark?" Whisper said as she was pouting Tone noticed that dad was walking a little slow and off balance.
"Esper, go get mom!" He says as he starts running "Somethings wrong with dad!"
"What?" Whisper , clearly taken aback by the tone switch, stands frozen for a minute before running into the house.
'Shit, shit, shit, what could have possibly happened. Nothing has happened in the 7 years that I've been here.' As I ran, worry, anxiety, and helplessness came over me. When he finally made it to Paul he saw him holding his side while his armor was dyed red in some areas.
"Dad, are you ok? What happened?" I noticed that he was bleeding on his side. I took my shirt off And wrapped it around the wound and applied pressure.
"Tone, I'm fine, just help me walk to the house." Paul Said.
"Fuck, it's still bleeding."
"Watch your mouth and just help me to the house" Paul said.
"Yes sir." I said realizing I need to calm down
I lean on to his side to help him with his balance as he puts his hand on my shoulder. I help him get most of the way to the house as mom comes rushing out the door.
"Paul, What happened?!" Jade asked him as she pulled his arm over her shoulders.
"I'll tell you later." Paul said as he walked into the house and sat in a chair. "It turns out I'm going to need to make a trip to the capital. Soon."
"It's that bad?" Jade asks as she chants something in Latin. She then closes her eyes and water starts to be condensed from the air to the wound. She then split the water in 2, one to move the blood and other to heal the wound.
"It's so cool every time I see it" I say as I grab a bucket for the blood.
"Of course we've only ever seen it like 2 times." Whisper points out as she helps remove Paul's armor.
"It's not that bad yet, I already sent my mana beast to the king to inform him." Paul said as he took the last of his armor off.
"One second Paul. You 2 go up stairs with your brother while I take care of your dad."
"But we want to help." Both I and Whisper plead.
"No, but go upstairs now." Mom said.
We reluctantly went upstairs. Only to the top tho and tried to listen to the conversation.
"It was the Mell Empire, they had a few scouts in the forest, we were able to kill all but one got away." Paul said as the wound was closed. "I don't think we can keep delaying the start of their training. If something were to happen to them at least they would know how to run away."
"I know Paul, but we only have ten years with them before you know what. I just want them to live life more." mom said.
"What is so sad about the awakening for them to be like this?" Whisper asked me
"I don't know, but I got a bad feeling about this," I answered back. "Let's go check on John."
