Neither Harry Potter nor Hermione Granger was willing to leave just like that.
Hermione, why do we not retrace the path we took that night?
Harry turned to her and spoke cautiously.
We can try.
After thinking for a moment, Hermione agreed.
Perhaps walking the same path again would lead to a new discovery.
The two of them headed downstairs.
They followed the same route they had taken before, moving along the wall toward the corridor where Argus Filch's cat had been attacked.
As they walked, both of them stayed close to the wall.
Hermione seemed to be thinking deeply.
She reached out and let her hand slide along the wall, feeling it carefully as they moved.
Harry looked at her actions in confusion, but he trusted her and did not interrupt.
Halfway down, Hermione suddenly stopped.
Her expression turned thoughtful.
Did you find something?
Harry asked immediately, unable to hide his anticipation.
Harry, was the sound you heard coming from inside the wall?
Yes, I heard it from ahead, and I followed it along the wall, so it must have come from inside.
Then I think I understand.
Just as Hermione was about to explain, she noticed several students approaching.
She immediately stopped speaking and pulled Harry away to another spot.
Harry understood and followed her without hesitation.
These were not things they could discuss openly.
Meanwhile, in the Hogwarts Library, Draco Malfoy sat reading A History of Magic, deep in thought.
He was trying to verify the ideas he had learned.
But the more he thought, the more confused he became.
Some beliefs could not simply be abandoned.
He could not easily reject everything his parents had taught him.
Because he understood too much, his confusion only deepened.
That was why he came to the library.
He wanted to confirm everything himself.
After closing the book, Draco looked at Vincent Crabbe and Gregory Goyle, who were fast asleep on the table.
The corner of his mouth twitched.
Getting them to read was harder than anything.
Shaking his head, he left them behind and walked out of the library.
He did not worry about them.
They were not stupid enough to get lost on the way back.
A faint smile appeared on Draco's face.
Since reading that book, he had changed.
He had become more restrained and far less arrogant.
After leaving the library, he wandered through Hogwarts without any clear destination.
Tonight, he planned to speak with Harry.
But for now, he did not know where to go.
He did not even want to return to the Slytherin common room.
That place was filled with ambition, schemes, and hidden intentions.
Although no one dared to treat him poorly due to his status as a member of a powerful pure-blood family, that very status also restricted him.
If he wanted to break free from it, the cost would be enormous.
Was it really worth it?
Draco asked himself.
Lost in thought, he suddenly collided with someone.
Ah.
He stumbled and nearly fell, barely managing to steady himself against the wall.
The other person was knocked to the ground, holding his nose with one hand while raising his wand with the other, aiming directly at Draco with clear hostility.
Seeing this, Draco immediately drew his own wand and pointed it back.
The eagle emblem on the other student's robe revealed his identity as a Ravenclaw.
Aiden looked at Draco with a calm but cold expression.
He slowly lowered his wand.
At this moment, he had not yet returned control of the body to its original owner.
Draco Malfoy, a member of the Malfoy family.
His voice was soft, but carried a strange pressure.
Draco narrowed his eyes, confused by the sudden mention of his background.
Since the other party lowered his wand, Draco did the same.
Everyone knows I am a Malfoy, so who are you?
Even now, Draco maintained the elegance expected of a pure-blood wizard.
Habits formed over many years could not be easily changed.
He stepped forward slightly, attempting to create pressure.
Aiden only smiled faintly.
His thoughts were far more complex.
He had abandoned pure-blood supremacy and was now exploring a different path.
He had witnessed the era of Gellert Grindelwald.
He had seen the war that tried to reshape the world.
He had also lived through the era of Albus Dumbledore.
He had seen Dumbledore defeat Grindelwald and preserve the old order.
And later, he himself had ignited an era of fear and darkness.
Whether right or wrong, his name would remain in A History of Magic.
Even if it was not remembered fondly.
