The next day where Princess Marina, Aldric, Lorraine and Aleron would begin shadowing their seniors came all too soon and Princess Marina stilled herself so her eyes wouldn't wander to where she would usually sit.
The shadowing took less than ten minutes and Princess Marina made sure to dissect Sloan's invention as she watched it fly across the room. When the seniors were done, the first years greeted them a good bye and Princess Marina and Lorraine marched back to their seat.
"How is first day on the job?" Maria asked Princess Marina excitedly.
"I haven't started yet." Princess Marina said with a chuckle.
"We are just shadowing for now." Princess Marina said as she cut into the slab of meat in her plate.
"Where is Rassera?" Princess Marina asked as she looked around for her blonde blue eyed friend.
"No idea." Esmira said with a shake of her head.
"But I am sure we'll see her at lunch." Esmira said with a smile and Princess Marina nodded her head slowly.
After breakfast, Princess Marina headed to her first class that was held in a barren space with enthusiasm. Wearing a dark green top and bottom with her hair packed in a long ponytail, Princess Marina and the other first year students blessed by the spirit of fire stood before a ring containing a man with short black hair and grey eyes.
"My name is Dravion Snow." said the man with black hair and grey eyes.
"And I am your weapon training teacher." Dravion Snow said and the audience clapped.
"As it's the first class, I have decided to make things exciting by showing you a demonstration." Dravion Snow said and the students cheered
Smiling at the anticipating smiles, Dravion said "This special demonstration would be done by two people."
"The first, is the top scorer and one of the best fighters of the second year class, Malcolm Slate." Dravion Snow and a tall boy with long black hair and light blue eyes stepped into the room.
"And the second, is the top scorer of the first year class and the highest point scorer of the hunt, the third star of the Empire, Princess Marina." Dravion Snow said and all the first year students blessed by the spirit of fire looked at Princess Marina in shock and worry.
Uncomfortably raising his hand to speak, Halorin said "Princess Marina has just come into the academy, having her fight in this demonstration is-"
"Nonsense." Dravion said with a chuckle as he easily cut Halorin off.
"Princess Marina has the highest points the hunt has seen in three years." Dravion said with a smile.
"I am sure that she would be able to handle a little demonstration." Dravion said flippiantly.
"But-" Fawn and Falorin tried to say but Dravion raised a hand to stop them.
"Do you agree to this demonstration Princess Marina?" Dravion asked and suddenly the ball was in Princess Marina's court.
Looking at the anxious faces of Falorin, Halorin and Fawn, Princess Marina almost turned down the demonstration but when she saw Dravion smirk, Princess Marina's face turned sour.
"I accept." Princess Marina said and Dravion smirked, knowing what she would do from the very beginning.
"Princess Marina!" Fawn and Falorin scolded her but Princess Marina only smiled.
"It's just a demonstration." Princess Marina said with a smile.
"I trust that Malcolm won't be too hard on me." said Princess Marina as she stared at Malcolm but Malcolm didn't say anything in response.
"You will both be allowed to use the weapons you are familiar with." Dravion said and Princess Marina's weapon which she had submitted to the Academy for safe keeping was presented to her.
Pulling her weapon from the box it was placed in, Princess Marina didn't know a smile has graced her features as she held her weapon for the first time in a long time.
Heading to the ring where the battle was to take place, Princess Marina noticed that her opponent's weapon of choice was a golden bow and quivers.
"As much as I wouldn't want to hurt a girl, I fear that I will take this demonstration seriously." Malcolm said across the ring.
Smiling because she knew it would turn out like this, Princess Marina said "It would be boring if you didn't."
"Begin!" Dravion Snow said and before Princess Marina could even move, a bow with wind like properties zoomed at her.
