Chapter 72 - Chapter 72

Clenching her hands into fist, Princess Marina turned away from what would have been a challenge if she was Estania. Passively listening to Ariar Zen as she explained the concept of overload to the rest of the students, Princess Marina wondered if she would have to add another teacher to the avoid list.

"What are your thoughts on this Princess Marina?" Ariar Zen asked Princess Marina, waiting for her to give her view on overload but Princess Marina dodged the entire conversation by saying a single word "Agtisconite."

"Yes." Falorin said, lighting up instantly.

"Agtisconite is a metal that can be used in place of Calver." Falorin said happily.

"Agtisconite has a transducing property, its light, attractive and can be used to make a full weapon instead of being paired with another metal." Halorin said, providing more information and every student turned to look at Ariar Zen for her verdict.

"Evasive." Ariar Zen thought.

"Agtisconite is a good choice but Agtisconite is very rare. It's a wonder that you didn't know that before suggesting it Princess Marina?" Ariar Zen said, trying to push her buttons but Princess Marina looked at her with a calm smile.

"My mistake." Princess Marina said cooly and Ariar Zen realized that she had just been baited to change the topic.

"Her triggering a level four overload was certainly not because she was an emotional person." Ariar Zen thought with a nod of her head.

"With quick thinking like that, she could talk her way out of anything." Ariar Zen thought as she continued her lecture.

Princess Marina's fourth class was taught by Xerose Tal and Princess Marina relaxed instantly. The class wasn't too taxing and they weren't even told to animate yet, the only thing the class focused on was concentration and Princess Marina was extremely happy to oblige.

After the fourth class, Princess Marina was ready to head to lunch. Placing her books in her locker, Princess Marina stepped out of the section belonging to those blessed by the spirit of fire and merged with other students from the other blessings as they all headed for the exit.

Reaching the train station in record time, Princess Marina saw a familiar silhouette. Creeping up to scare her, Princess Marina had barely shouted boo before Maria jumped three feet in the air and moved backwards quickly. Thinking that Maria scared easily, Princess Marina was about to laugh until she saw the genuine fear on Maria's face.

"What is it?" Princess Marina asked as she suddenly became alert.

"Did something happen?" Princess Marina asked Maria who shook her head quickly.

"I was just frightened from the scare that's all." Maria said with a bright smile that Princess Marina didn't believe.

Wanting to push the matter further, Princess Marina had only opened her mouth to speak before she was interrupted by Falorin who called her name loudly.

Turning to see what she could possibly want at this moment, Princess Marina listened as Falorin said "You, Aleron, Aldric and Lorraine have been summoned by the Overall Dean." within breaths.

"Why?" Princess Marina thought out loud before shaking her head.

"It doesn't matter anyway." Princess Marina said as she arranged her school uniform.

"It's not like I did anything wrong." Princess Marina said with a shrug but just before she left she made sure to pull Falorin aside.

"Look after her, please." Princess Marina said softly as she nodded her head to Maria and Falorin nodded in understanding.

Trying not to drag her feet as she grumpily headed to the building at the center of all four buildings, Princess Marina cursed the Overall Dean for summoning her at this point in time. Grumpily climbing the two flights of stairs that lead to the Overall Dean's office, Princess Marina was surprised to come face to face with Aleron who was seated on a long wooden seat with cushions.

Awkwardly taking a seat next to him, Princess Marina asked "Aren't we supposed to go in?"

"I was told to wait until we were all complete." Aleron said in a dull tone with his eyes straight ahead and Princess Marina nodded dumbly.

Trying to fill the awkward silence Princess Marina said "So." awkwardly.

Cringing at her lack of conversational skills, Princess Marina tried to break the ice by saying "How are your classes?" but Aleron didn't even turn to look at her.

Trying to fill the silence, Princess Marina said "Today was a little much." but the look Aleron gave her silenced her immediately.

Coughing awkwardly because she didn't know what to do with herself, Princess Marina prayed to the Goddess for the first time since she arrived in Valaria.

"Please bring someone else here, Please bring someone else here." Princess Marina chanted in her mind vehemently and her prayer was answered when Aldric appeared at the top of the stairs.

Thanking the Goddess that she would never thank on a normal day, Princess Marina almost kissed the ground Aldric walked on.

Making space between her and Aleron so Aldric could sit in the middle, Princess Marina almost danced for joy when Aldric noticed her distress and sat down in the space she created for him.

Smiling discreetly because he knew that she had had a tough time with Aleron, Aldric decided to break the silence by saying "So why do you think they summoned us?"
