Chapter 35 - Chapter 33

I found out about Kai Chisaki…

His quirk — Overhaul — it's terrifyingly similar to Decay.

But instead of destroying things completely, he can disassemble and reassemble anything he touches.

A monster with precision.

How did I defeat him in the original timeline?

By borrowing Eri's power. By pushing One For All to 100% for several minutes…

That was the key.

But right now?

I know almost nothing about him. Nothing about his gang. They're just extras to me at the moment — nameless dangers hiding in the dark.

And without a proper plan, if I raid them…

My chance of success is low.

I might even end up dead.

And I can't involve All Might.

His embers are fading day by day. Soon he'll lose them completely.

Soon… he'll retire.

I don't want that to happen. I don't want to be another burden on him.

"Oi, Deku! Why are you slacking off?"

Kacchan's voice exploded through the classroom, shaking me out of my thoughts.

Just like that, Aizawa sensei dragged us, and Kicked us out of the room.

"Why the fuck are you slacking off? If you wanna be a hero, you should be competent too," he growled.

"…I'm not slacking off. I'm just… lost in thought."

"That's what slacking off means, you bastard!" he screamed even louder.

"Okay, okay—got it! Don't be so loud," I muttered.

"How's One For All going?" he asked suddenly.

Right. He figured out the secret.

He watched me talk with All Might a little too often, heard Todoroki teasing me about the 'All Might is your dad' theory… and confronted me.

"Did All Might give you his quirk or something?"

He's annoyingly intuitive.

I panicked and told him about OFA.. One thing led to another.

We fought again — this time I won, using the quirks.

Before we could have a rematch again

because he got pissed I held back when we fought in sports festival previously, All Might jumped in from nowhere and stopped us.

Honestly… I don't blame Kacchan.

When you give everything you have, you expect your opponent to do the same. Its my mistake to look down on his determination..

"I can manage up to 55% without breaking down," I told him.

"55? I thought you said you were at 55 before too," he narrowed his eyes.

"I didn't make progress. But I'm using the past users' quirks better."

"Tch. You should focus more on One For All itself. Relying too much on those extra quirks makes you sloppy. If you can't improve anymore… next time we fight, I'm gonna butcher you."

"We'll see about that," I said.

Should I ask Kacchan to help me…?

He's crazy strong now.

His growth rate scares me.

He keeps up with my 55% like it's nothing.

If he helps… then taking down Overhaul—

"Kacchan… I'm going to raid a villain base. On my own. Will you help me?"

He blinked. Then—

"Are you insane? Of course I will. Who's this villain we're gonna obliterate?"

Yeah… this is Katsuki Bakugo.

"So what—you got a dream? A little girl asking for help? And she conveniently told you the villain's name? She's being held hostage by—"

He stared at me like I'd grown three heads.

"And you expect me to believe that?"

"Kacchan—!"

"Are you fucking with me, Deku!?" he yelled.

Whoa. He really didn't buy it.

Nana-san would've believed me…

He's annoyingly sharp.

"Actually… a month ago, when I was patrolling, I found this girl. She was shaking. But her guardian took her away. I didn't have proof then… but now I do."

"You should've said that first, you idiot! Why tell the story backwards?!" he snapped.

"…So what's the plan?"

"Eh… go to his base, infiltrate, and save the girl?"

"You expect that to WORK?" Kacchan glared.

"No matter how strong we are, infiltrating a villain base means unpredictable variables.

We need more people.

You're under Endeavor Agency, right?

Why didn't you ask them for help?"

"…Yeah. I didn't think that far," I admitted.

And so, I created a clean, believable report of how I found Eri.

Everything I gathered about Chisaki.

Everything I could justify.

I brought it all to Endeavor.

And the raid on the Shie Hassaikai — the yakuza gang of Kai Chisaki — officially began.

Meanwhile — League of Villains

"Young master… is that boy from before really the Master's son?" Kurogiri asked quietly.

"…I don't know," Shigaraki murmured, scratching his neck. "But I've never seen Master's eyes look like that. If anything… Master doesn't want him hurt. That much is obvious."

"What do you think, Dabi?" Rin asked.

"I don't care about that kid," Dabi shrugged. "Even if he's the Master's son. As long as I get to destroy Endeavor."

"If he is the Master's son… isn't it obvious he's supposed to join us?" Twice chimed in.

"I wanna drink his blood…" Toga said cheerfully. "If he's really Master's son, then Rin-kun might get a new brother~~"

Shigaraki clicked his tongue. "…Toga."

But before he could scold her, a soft, cold voice floated from the dim corner of the room.

A presence that made even Dabi's casual smirk falter.

Kurohane Rika stepped into the light — long black hair brushing her shoulders, eyes dark and unreadable like deep ink.

She had always been quiet.

Always watching.

"I want to meet the boy too…he's too intersting.." she murmured, a small, chilling smile forming.

The room fell silent.

Even Shigaraki blinked, unsure whether she meant curiosity, testing, or something far darker.

Rika tilted her head, eyes gleaming with something that made Toga — of all people — whistle.

"He's interesting. If he truly carries Master's lineage… I want to see what he is capable of."

Shigaraki slowly smirked, scratching his neck.

"…What will you do, Midoriya Izuku?"

His voice lowered, amusement and malice folding together.

"Will you become my brother…

…or my enemy?"

Rika's whisper lingered in the air like a cold blade

"I hope he chooses the path where I get to touch him."
