Chapter song: Louis - Barbara Pavi
Kenneth had dreams. Vivid dreams. Dreams real enough that he felt like if he reached out to touch them, something would reach back.
In his dreams he was hopelessly happy. Like the protagonist of a rom-com, finds their true love in a small town, adopts a dog, pops out a slew of children and co-manages a shop with the charming golden boy of the town, kind of happy.
In those dreams, the person at his side was always Lucien. Always him. Even in his slumber he couldn't bring himself to conjure up another being. Another person who could rock his world the way Lucien did. That could make him want to rip bodies to shreds, gun down rebel groups hell-bent on destroying his Striker's peace.
He didn't think he could ever find someone who irritated him more than Lucien. Who loved him unconditionally like Lucien. Just the thought of being with someone else made him want to projectile vomit, inhale said projectile vomit, and chuck it out again.
