Chapter 3 - Arrival

When Zero woke up, they were inside the school building. He looked around and found out that he had slept off. Then he checked his surroundings.

He was in a room and was sleeping on the upper bunk. He looked down and noticed a boy was sleeping directly underneath him and to his right was another bunk that was occupied by two boys.

He heaved a sigh. For a moment he had suspended all his thinking. Back in the bus he thought the men were nothing but kidnappers who wanted to get the government's attention by taking in a lot of students.

But still if they were actually taking them to the school why did they have to induce them to sleep first. Was it a routine? If I was, that was cruel and against to solitude of the students.

Then he remembered that the school wasn't known by many people and the only thing his mind could take in was that this school was a secret organisation.

Why was a university for leaners a secret organisation? Just what we're they trying to hide. It was obvious that if he wanted an answer to the questions he had to stay long enough to uncover the secrets.

"Huh?" Zero asked as he saw the hologram again. His mind puzzled.

He remembered while in the bus it had hinted him about the poisonous gas before time and had given him a clue as to what was happening.

He had earlier thought he was drunk but after seeing this three consecutive times he had to admit that it was at least close to real. He stared at the hologram.

"Daily quests huh? What happens if I reject it?" Xero thought to himself and just then the hologram began to rewrite again.

[Host loses 1 stat point from a chosen attribute.]

"Seriously this thing can hear me? Ok. Can I see my status?" The hologram interchanged the information and then his status was displayed before him.

[Agility: 6]

[Stamina:8]

[Speed : 5]

He stared at it deeply. From the information he had right now, he had higher stamina and that explained why he held out in the bus but what he was still confused about was the fact that the system had discretely defined his personality.

"So what system did it say I had again?" He thought as he racked his brain to remember. Just then a bulky man entered the room.

"Everyone up!!" The man commanded in a hush tone. Zero quickly jumped down the bunk as he was already awake. The other three boys followed suit.

"Now you all should get to the gathering hall for your entrance exam!" He said and the boys hurried out of the room.

Outside was large. The buildings were massive and the open ground was large enough to park at least 500 cars with ease.

"Just what the hell is this place?" Zero let out as he walked up to see students already gathered at the open ground.

He looked around to see if he knew anyone but he didn't. That was a relief because he wanted to start his life afresh. He would not allow bullies to control him again but will be strong enough to fend for himself.

He wanted to look behind when a lady bumped into him. He tripped and fell. She looked at him and quickly offered her hand for him to stand.

His eyes widened in shock. It was the first time he was being offered a helping hand. All his life he had always been bullied and was a living in the eyes of everyone.

Because of that he didn't want to accept the help. Better to save her from disgrace than to savour this moment. He stood on his one and turned back to face the crowd.

The lady's cheek flushed red and she stood in front of him. He stared at her wondering if she wanted to insult him like the usual.

"Hey. What's your problem? I offered you help but you rejected it, why?" She asked. It was then that Zero noticed that she was about 170 metres tall with a cascading beauty. Her hair was thick black and she looked to be in her late teens.

"Look not every help must be accepted." Zero said almost coldly. The girl stared at him and smugged.

"Seriously? Why? What's your name?" She pressed him with so much questions like she was expecting him to answer all that then.

"Not needed." He retorted.

She came closer and he could scent her alovera and perfumes. From the scent he knew she had to be from a rich home. More reason why he had to avoid her.

"Look, I just came to this place to find my feet, I believe that's what you came here for too." He said and stared front.

"My name is Becky. Concerning your statement, I came here based on recommendation." She said slowly and quietly.

Zero didn't look at her. But her statement caught him off guard. Recommendation? How? Who recommended her to the school? Then he reasoned that her parents must have paid.

So on that note why was she participating in the entrance exam? She was basically recommended. Never mind. That wasn't his own to worry about.

Then a military personnel stood on the podium accompanied by two men in hoods everyone kept silent to listen attentively.

"Good day everyone, I assume you all know why you are here." There was a chorus 'yes' to his question.

"Good. Now I'll state how the exam will begin."
