Chapter 8 - Chapter 7 — “The Day the School Trembled”

The morning sun hung low, casting long shadows over Blackthorn Academy — but today, something felt different. The air was heavier, buzzing like an unseen storm. Students whispered in tense excitement, rumors flying through the corridors like sparks.

Eiryn Vassir walked through the main gate, hands in pockets, eyes calm but sharp. The bruises from yesterday's fights had already vanished — courtesy of his strange, growing power that neither he nor anyone else understood completely.

Behind him, chaos followed.

Students parted like he was a walking disaster zone…

And honestly, he was.

The Gathering Storm

In the central courtyard, a crowd had gathered. At the center stood Rudra, a senior known for his brutal strength and even more brutal ego. He cracked his knuckles loudly, eyeing Eiryn as if he were a prize to be claimed.

"Vassir!" Rudra shouted. "I hear you've been acting like a king lately. Today, I put you back in your place."

Eiryn sighed.

"I'm not interested. Go roar at someone else."

The crowd gasped.

Rudra's eyebrow twitched. "Oh, you will be. Because I'm not giving you a choice."

Suddenly, a chalkboard came flying from nowhere and slammed into Rudra's back.

Everyone blinked.

On the roof, Jay waved dramatically.

"Sorry! I slipped. The board slipped. Physics slipped!"

Eiryn facepalmed.

"Jay… stop helping me."

Students burst into laughter — the comedy moment before the storm.

Rudra, now fuming, stomped forward. "That's it. You're dead."

The Spark That Lit the Fight

Rudra lunged. A blur of fists and rage.

Eiryn dodged — just barely. Something inside him pulsed. A burning whisper in his veins.

Unleash me.

Not again. Not here.

Eiryn shoved Rudra away, but he kept coming, faster, stronger. The courtyard became a battlefield, students climbing benches, trees, even the statue of the founder to watch.

Jay shouted from above:

"Bro, DO SOMETHING! He looks like he eats dumbbells for breakfast!"

Eiryn muttered, "I'm trying not to kill anyone."

Rudra swung a punch strong enough to bend metal — and it connected.

Eiryn flew backward, crashing into the stone tiles. Dust rose. The crowd gasped.

For a moment, the world disappeared into ringing silence.

The Awakening

Eiryn saw darkness.

A deep void.

Then a pair of eyes — blood-red, ancient, merciless.

You are weak… until you accept me.

Eiryn clenched his fist inside the void.

"I don't need you."

You already used me. You survived because of me. And now… you call for me again.

A violent shock ran through his chest.

The world snapped back.

Eiryn stood. His eyes flickered black.

The ground cracked beneath him.

A dark aura spiraled up his arms like wildfire.

The courtyard fell silent.

Even Rudra froze.

The Fight That Changed Everything

Eiryn stepped forward, the tiles shattering under his foot.

In one motion — too fast for the eye — he appeared behind Rudra.

Rudra felt only a cold whisper at his ear:

"Sit."

A shockwave blasted outward.

Rudra was slammed into the ground, unconscious before he hit it.

Students screamed. Some ran. Some stood frozen. Some took videos because… well, students.

Eiryn turned toward them — aura swirling like a beast awakening.

Jay climbed down from the roof slowly.

"E-Eiryn… bro? You good? You look like you're about to eat souls."

For a moment, the darkness in Eiryn's eyes grew deeper.

Then… it faded.

He stumbled.

Jay caught him.

"You idiot," Jay whispered. "You almost lost yourself."

Eiryn looked up at the sky, the weight of that inner voice still pressing on him.

"I don't know… what's happening to me."

The Emotional End

The principal, teachers, and guards rushed in, horrified at the destruction.

Everyone began shouting, accusing, panicking.

But Eiryn didn't hear them.

He only heard one echo:

You belong to the darkness.

And soon… the world will know.

Eiryn closed his eyes.

"I won't let you control me."

But the darkness inside him…

…laughed.
