Hearing the commotion inside the operation room which was faint but still audible the girl was scared thinking about the worst and was looking through the small window opening of the door to see what is going inside. There she saw the doctors use a defibrillator on Shane. She immediately started crying and praying by clasping her hands together. Seeing his daughter have tears again the father came to her side and held her in a hug to comfort her. Just then a nurse came outside.
Seeing the nurse the duo stopped her to ask what is happening inside. Hearing the question asked the nurse thought about the conversation few minutes back.

As the father, daughter duo went to pay the bill we see inside the operation room.
Shane lying on a stretcher, equipment to the left side near the legs of the patient. The doctors who just got ready came up to Shane and started checking on the injuries and also asking for the necessary scans that were done before bringing the patient in. There were two doctors checking him up one being the man that had the conversation about having the consent of parents and the other a black male who seems like a boxer due to his size but is in-fact a reputable doctor who has quite a record under him.
While checking the patient and cleaning up to start the operation the Black doc spoke up first "Didn't you just come out doing a operation on one of the serious cases Su?" asked the man addressing the other doctor by his nickname. "Yes, Paul I did. What about it?" Asked the doctor Su without beating around the bush. "You sure you can handle another accident case?" asked Paul a bit worried about his colleague working overtime as a doctor would also need to take rest after operating on a serious accident case. "Yes, Paul I'll be fine since the nurse informed me that this will not be a serious case like last one and the patient is not losing much blood" replied Su understanding Paul's worry but dismissing it due to his serious nature in the operation room while giving an explanation on why he can continue and also providing the context about the patient. Talking about the father and daughter duo who came to ask for the start of the operation and the girl's tear-stricken face pleading him to save the patient due to which he took this decision. He also disclosed the father's status and why it was important to do the operation himself.
Hearing the context Paul understood he situation and continued the clean up of wounds. After cleaning the wounds both the doctors have observed a major problem and Paul was the one to voice it out. "HOW IS HE EVEN ALIVE?" Exclaimed Paul loudly seeing the left side which looked as if the lung and a few bones were missing being bent inside a bit which can be clearly seen with the naked eye. Docto Su took Shane's hand and checked for pulse which was very faint. "His left side seems dented. where the stomach seems to cave in a bit making the heart bend towards his inside a little." Said Su with practiced calm and he started to see how bad the injury is. "Damn this is dangerous. Nurse, I taught you said there was not much danger. so, WHAT IS THIS? he seems pretty much on the edge of time to me". asked Paul who was anxious seeing the patient and going through the scans and seeing the patient's blood was lower than safe level. Doctor Su immediately gave orders and the nurses started moving left and right hooking the heart monitor on Shane to keep track of his heart beat and other things. Just before they even started the removal of broken bone pieces they heard Shane's hearth count going lower seeing this they became anxious and Su asked for the defibrillator which was better to use than a more powerful shock inducer which might do more harm than good.
"Nurse go and bring the patient's matching blood and also all the necessary equipment" said Su while giving the nurse the list of needed equipment. "Okay, Doctor" replied the nurse while heading to the door.

After thinking for a few seconds, the nurse said briefly about the lack of necessary blood and the slowing heartbeat. But she reassured the two quickly and went to bring the equipment. Hearing the nurse's 1 min explanation and seeing her leave for the equipment the two were still worried and watch as the doctors use the equipment to bring back Shane's heartbeat. After a few tries when it seems liked it was no use Shane has started breathing normally after a particularly strong blast restoring the heartbeat which was dangerous but was alright. By this time the nurse also returned and said to the father and daughter to sit down and don't trouble them by standing in the doorway while pushing the required equipment inside. Hearing the nurse the duo took seat seeing the operation started.
After some time, they heard hurried footsteps towards their direction. When they looked up, they saw a group of 3 people. A man who looks to be somewhere 40+, A woman who looks above 30+ and a kid who seem like the age of 2 or so. They too noticed the two people waiting outside the room they are searching for. Yes, these 3 newcomers are Shane's parents and his little brother. Seeing the man standing outside his son's operation room Shane's father was stunned because he knows the other person as they both work as public civil officers'. So, Shane's father has seen the deputy a few times, but he was shocked to see the deputy outside his son's supposed operation room.
seeing the newcomers and the women's face which was full of worry looking left and right as if she is searching for something the deputy guessed they might be Shane's family and took the initiative to start a conversation. "Are you guys' Shane's parents?" asked deputy normally with a straight face. "Yes, is my boy alright? Where is he?" asked the mother anxiously thinking they know about her son's whereabouts due to the man question towards them. "He has been taken to the operation room and his treatment started already." said the deputy patiently. "Wait they haven't, took our consent yet nor disclosed what condition our son is in. so, how can they just start the operation?" asked the father knowing the importance of such things as they are needed to take action when something is wrong. "Forget about those tell me what happened to my son?" Asked the mother while reprimanding her husband for still thinking about rules.
"Ah! let me explain from the start what has happened?" said the deputy trying to explain the situation clearly. While the deputy was explaining the situation about how Shane saved his daughter's life but was the one to get hurt. Also recalling the talk with the doctor on how he persuaded the doctor to start without the consent so as to save Shane's life and calm his anxious daughter. While the adults were talking the Girl started playing with Shane's little brother to keep her thoughts away from the negativity that is being clouded in her mind due to guilt.
After hearing the explanation Shane's mother couldn't stop her tears from flowing and spilling on the floor. While Shane's father got an understanding of what the situation is about even understanding the decision to start the operation without their consent after hearing about the situation with the slow heartbeat that happened just a few minutes before their arrival. After knowing the deputy's position and what help he is providing Shane's father thanked the deputy while holding his wife close to provide comfort.
Afterwards they just waited while making small talk like Shane's father sharing his job and being some what like a subordinate to the deputy in the department. Hearing this the deputy has shared his own details. Slowly even talking about their families and discussing about Shane's bravery in saving the girl. Eventually both families getting to know about each other while the operation was going on.
After 1-2 hours they see that a doctor was coming out and they hurried to Doctor Paul who came outside with a grim expression. He learned about their names and relation to the patient while also introducing himself. While he just finished introducing himself, he was suddenly stopped by Shane's mother. "Doctor before anything tell me what happened to my son? Is everything alright with him? He'll be alright, right?" Questioned Shane's mother rapidly due to stress and worry while waiting which only grew when she saw the doctor come with a grim expression.
Hearing the rapid questions Paul had to ask her to calm down a bit and started explaining the situation. "Well when we started the operation we didn't thought the injuries were so severe. But as we cleaned and checked his scans we got an understanding on what we were dealing with. The patient was hit by the truck on the left side due to which his chest caved in a bit. After being hit he should have hit the road on his left side again" said Paul trying to explain the injuries. "Ah, yes I heard he bounced on the road twice after being hit" said the girl sharing what she knows.
"Right due to that second impact the patient's rib has gotten multiple cracks and is just stuck in place. While his stomach moved a bit inside going closer to the heart even moving the heart that stands a bit to the left side. Which caused trouble in pumping of blood couple that with the blood loss. Along with those the left side of the intestines also got severely injured though there seems to be no cuts present. But don't worry we were able to stabilize him a bit now my colleague is still working on him inside. I just came to inform guys outside about the situation. I still need to help my partner to finish up and help bring the young man out." Said Paul reassuringly to the mother's question.
Hearing the doctor go on about the damage to the body Shane mother grew extremely worried but when the doctor said that they stabilized Shane a bit she felt as if a huge stone from her heart was removed but hearing the operation is still going on she was still worried just not as much as before. "Thank you doctor. Thank you." Said the worried mother.
"Don't thank me yet. the patient's situation is still not completely out of danger." said Paul explaining that they need consent to perform internal surgery for fixing the broken ribcage and moving the internal organs which are moved out of place. Hearing this the parents face grew grim but eventually Shane's father gave a nod and proceeded to sign the necessary documents. After taking the signed documents Paul went inside and the parents looking at their son's body on the operation table couldn't help but pray that the surgery will be successful. So, that they can see him smiling at them again.
After couple of hours the doctors came outside with unreadable expressions not saying anything. seeing their faces both the mother and father have lowered their faces waiting for the sad news which seemed obvious. While the Girl who was Saved and was playing with the little kid also stopped abruptly while her eyes started the waterworks while the girl's father just shut his eyes due to feeling them sting a bit.

It is nighttime now in the city as it seemed silent almost too silent where even the rain falling could be heard clearly. The rain was falling hard with lightning in the sky flashing violently as if it is holding something and needs to throw it away from itself. Then suddenly thunder flashed and struck the ground straight in between buildings. The thunder struck with a resounding sound, if anyone were close by, they would have gone deaf for some minutes due to the sound.
After striking the ground the lightning stayed just for a few minutes then the thunder disappeared just as quick as it appeared. All of this happened in the span of just 3 minutes. After the thunder disappeared the rain also abruptly stopped as if it has finished its business and left.
If someone were to check the place where the thunder struck, they would notice that the place is not on fire nor are there any burn marks being present, but they will see a black cloth like substance shuffling ever so lightly in the alleyway.
"uummm". The sound came from the black cloth as it shuffled inside. Then suddenly it shot up half still on ground while the other half was up as if it is siting. "AH! damn. IT HURTS!" came a startling cry from the cloth as the cloth unfurled showing what it was hiding. First the black hair then the black eyes that looked unimpressive, then the nose and lips showing the face. There he was, the person who should be on the hospital bed but is now sitting and twitching with pain on the cold concrete floor.
"Who the heck put me on such a hard bed? I hate them very much" said Shane voicing his discomfort and the reason for his cry early. After complaining he checked his surroundings noticing the difference from his usual neighborhood. After checking for a few seconds, he tried to move which was a bit difficult due to intense pain but doable.
He woke up a bit shaky in his legs and searched his surroundings to see if he can find anything to know about his position and situation. But as he moved a few steps he could feel his body shaking due to cold. So, he looked down and screamed " Who the heck took my clothes!!? leaving me butt naked in the middle of the street or maybe an alley? But who cares once I find the guy who took my clothes, I'll drag him to the station for stealing my clothes." exclaimed Shane observing himself.
Looking around he can only see the black cloth which covered him before, so he took it and wrapped it around his waist like ancient people. Then he started moving again with great difficulty but was slowly getting used to the pain. He moved to check around for people so, he could ask them about the unfamiliar place. After walking out of the alley, he saw a place full of lighting and color with neon lights. Remembering his own city which would be having lights just as pretty in the night but not to the extent of what he is seeing he exclaimed loudly that everyone present in the vicinity could hear him " WHERE THE HECK AM I AT?".
