Several weeks passed as we started to get ready for the winter and the trip to Uchel's grandmother. Kachel was growing up fast.
I wasn't sure what I expected, but it was as if his life was on fast forward. He went from rolling around on his tummy to saying trying to crawl in the space of a week!
And he was already babbling and I honestly think he may already know the word mama.
"He shouldn't be playing with bones!" I told Cuau. He had given Kachel one of the bones from our dinner.
"It is just a bone. It will help his teeth come out." Cuau said.
"I don't want him getting sick," I insisted. "The meat from dinner has herbs and spices on it that may not be good for him. He could get an upset stomach."
"Oh, don't worry, I ate all the meat off the bone."
"That's not the point!"
I glared at Cuau.
"Just apologize and promise to wait till Kachel is a bit older." Ocello came in the hut, laying a freshly trimmed rabbit in the kitchen for dinner.
