After putting my wrinkled dress back on, we finished the fruit and started to head back into the village. Along the way, Ocello stilled and looked off into the forest.
"What is it?" I asked.
"It might be nothing, but I feel like we are being watched." I paled at his words and tried to see what he was looking at, but I only had human eyesight. I wonder if any beastmen were nearsighted?
A fluttering of the trees and a loud squawk of a bird nearby echoed through the forest and Ocello shook his head.
"I'm probably just imagining it." Looking at him, I blushed. I really hoped he was overthinking it because I did not want to imagine someone watching our activities.
"Let's get home." We walked back to the village, stopping to see Cuau along the way. When he saw Ocello's marriage mark, he grinned wildly and came over to congratulate us.
