Uchel stared in disgust at the woman who raised him. I didn't blame him. She had mistreated him, spread rumors that would make him and outcast and now it turns out she was stealing from him!
"That was…" Rayen started, but she bit her lip. Even she knew there was no real justification for what she had done.
The chief had stood back during the confrontation, but now she interjected.
"Where are you keeping the supplies sent by Uchel's family?" Rayen hesitated, desperately looking around to see if anyone would step in on her behalf, but even her husbands refused to say anything. "Speak up Rayen. You would not like me to get angry."
Suddenly, the air around Chief Inti began to darken and shimmer, as if tendrils of smoke were licking the air in anger. Her eyes had darkened and her presence became ominous.
