Chapter 46 - Desire

Sigurd appeared in front of the palace. Hela looked at the building with curious eyes, then turned toward Sigurd.

"Uncle, where are we?"

"We are at your aunt's place. She is the queen here."

Hearing this, Hela looked at the palace more carefully. Just as they neared the entrance, she saw a woman in a gown walking toward them.

"Sigurd, you finally came. I thought you ran away after my sister got angry."

Hearing this, Sigurd's mouth twitched.

"Antiope, can you be more positive? Why would I run away from her?"

Antiope looked at Sigurd, then her eyes caught the girl he was carrying.

"Oh, who is this little one? Don't say she is your daughter."

Before he could introduce Hela, he saw Hippolyta walking toward him with a wide, false smile. Just as Hippolyta was about to speak, Sigurd spoke first.

"Hela, come on, greet your aunt Hippolyta." Sigurd pointed toward Hippolyta, then said, "And this is Antiope, your aunt's sister."

Hela heard that this was her aunt. She happily greeted them.

"Hello, aunties. My name is Hela Odinsdottir."

Hearing Hela introduce herself, Hippolyta—who had been faking her smile—came forward and picked her up.

"Nice to meet you, Hela."

Then, without even looking at Sigurd, she spoke again.

"Come on, Hela. I will take you on a tour around Themyscira."

Sigurd could only follow them as Hippolyta showed them different places.

Sigurd watched Hela, who was enjoying herself with Hippolyta. She was learning new things here.

"Uncle, why is Auntie the queen of Themyscira, but I don't see any warriors like in Asgard?"

Hearing this, Sigurd did not know how to explain their past to Hela, who was still too young to understand.

Hippolyta looked at Sigurd, sensing his difficulty.

"Hela, I founded this country with my sisters to protect weak women from those who bully them."

Hearing this, Hela did not fully understand but thought for a moment, then said,

"When I become powerful like my uncle, I will punish those bullies."

Listening to Hela's words, Sigurd could not help but feel that if she learned of the Amazons' tragedy, she might slaughter many mortals.

"Yes, when you become powerful. Now let's go eat something." Hearing Sigurd's mention of food, Hela was distracted from her thoughts.

Sigurd was always observing Hela. After all, she was just a child who had left her home and was away from her mother for the first time. So he stayed close to her.

Hippolyta watched Sigurd, who followed Hela everywhere. She could not help but feel that Sigurd's attention toward children was greater than she had thought.

At night, Sigurd put Hela to bed and left a protective mark on the surrounding area to alert him if she woke.

Watching Sigurd carefully arrange everything, Hippolyta felt she also wanted a child.

"What are you thinking?" Seeing Hippolyta's expression, Sigurd could not help but ask.

Sigurd and Hippolyta went to their bedroom, which was just next to Hela's room.

"I was thinking… can we have a child?"

Hearing Hippolyta's words, Sigurd could not help but feel surprised.

"Why did you make such a decision?"

Hippolyta looked at Sigurd with a slightly angry expression.

"What do you mean by that? I thought we could also have a cute daughter like Hela."

Hippolyta looked determined as she said this. Sigurd thought about it, then replied,

"Okay, we can have a child, but you will have to come to my world to meet my parents."

Hearing Sigurd's words, Hippolyta was a little surprised.

"Will it be all right if I meet them?"

"It will be fine. Anyway, if you are planning to have a child, you should at least meet them. But it will depend on when you go."

Hippolyta heard this and felt relieved—at least she would go there in her own time.

Then Sigurd and Hippolyta went to their room.

The next morning, while Sigurd was still sleeping, he felt someone touching his face. When he opened his eyes, he saw Hela sitting next to him, while Hippolyta was arranging her hair.

"Uncle, you are so lazy. You brought me to visit, but you are still sleeping."

Sigurd looked at her, then at Hippolyta.

"But you are enjoying yourself with your aunt."

"That won't work. My aunt told me about a world where different foods are available. So you must take me there to try different foods. I also want to see new places."

Listening to her, he knew Hippolyta must have told her about Lucifer's Earth.

"Okay, I will take you there. After all, I brought you here to learn about a different world."

Hearing that she was going to visit another place, Hela was very happy.

As Sigurd prepared to take Hela and Hippolyta to Lucifer's world, at the same time, in Heaven, King Laufey looked toward the Angel Queen.

"Queen of Angels, are you sure your people can take the Casket of Ancient Winter from the Asgard vault?"

The Queen of Angels looked toward Laufey with assurance.

"You do not need to worry about that. My people are everywhere. If I want to get something, my plan will not fail."

Seeing her confidence, he knew this was his only chance to retrieve the Frost Giants' weapon—otherwise, it would be difficult to get it out of Asgard.

"So when are you going to plan to draw Odin away from Asgard?"

King Laufey looked toward his companion, then back at her.

"He will surely come after us. After all, he declared himself the King of the Ten Realms, so he has to save the people of the Ten Realms, right?"

Looking at Laufey's expression, she knew that after this coup, they might have to face the wrath of Asgard. She was also angry with Odin for declaring the Ten Realms as his own kingdom.

"Do not forget to pay my remuneration before the plan starts."

Hearing this, Laufey just nodded.

"Your resources will be sent. Prepare your people; we will launch the attack in a month."

The Queen of Angels watched Laufey and his companion leave, then turned toward her general.

"Summon back all the angels. We may have to go to war with Asgard after this. Also, strengthen the planetary protections. There should not be any mistake, or else we might be slaughtered by Odin and his army."

The angel general nodded.

"Yes, my Queen."
