Chapter 44 - Tiwaz

Sigurd was present with his brother and his father outside in the hall of Odin's palace.

Sigurd looked at his brother pacing around in the hall.

"Brother, relax. Everything will be okay. You can sit down."

Odin did not even hear his brother's words and continued pacing.

Bor looked at the situation and knew he had been the same when his first child was born. As he thought about it, he murmured,

"Fate is really tragic. I hope the child will have a great destiny."

Just as they were lost in their own thoughts, a huge power of death descended upon Asgard.

Sigurd, who was first to notice the domain of death, knew which child had been born.

"So the firstborn will be Hela. Let us hope the same tragedy will not happen in this world."

Odin also felt the power, and his eyes turned toward his father, but just as he was about to speak, the death domain intertwined with Asgard. Looking at the connection bonding with the Asgardian gods, Odin said,

"Father, what should we do? She can claim the bodies of Asgardian gods, but that will change the mentality of the whole Asgardian people."

Bor looked toward the main bedroom, then turned toward Sigurd and Odin.

"Why worry about such a thing? A goddess of death has not been born in Asgard before, so it is natural that the universe will balance the course. Even if people know, we will not have to worry."

Sigurd looked at his brother. He himself did not understand very clearly, but one thing was certain: if Hela was guided well, she could use the power of death to benefit Asgard.

Odin then looked toward Sigurd.

"You may have to look after her. In the future, you will have to train her properly."

Sigurd looked at his brother, speechless.

"Brother, are you out of your head? She is just a baby. Let her enjoy her time. When the time comes, we will know what to do."

Just as Odin was about to speak, Bestla walked out of the room with the baby in her arms.

"You guys are already planning for the future. Better not to think about it too much."

Seeing his mother's expression, Sigurd did not speak but raised his hand in support.

Then he walked toward the baby.

When he saw the baby, he felt that Hela was stronger than he had been at fifteen years old.

At the same time, a huge royal feast was organized by Sigurd himself. After all, his niece had been born.

Even all the Nine Realms' allies were invited. Just as everyone left the party organized by Asgard, Sigurd felt the presence of someone near the area where Hela was kept.

Without hesitation, he disappeared in front of the crowd and appeared directly near Frigga.

Seeing Frigga standing peacefully, he knew the visitor did not hold any malice. Sigurd looked toward the man and remembered who he was.

This was his grandfather, one of the Elder Gods of the Marvel universe—Buri.

Just as Sigurd was about to speak, he saw his father and mother coming toward him with his brother.

"Father."

Bor looked toward his father with expectation.

Buri turned his head toward Bor, then Odin.

"You have done well, Bor." Then his eyes turned toward Sigurd.

"You are my youngest grandson. It seems you are far beyond what the outside world knows."

Hearing these words, everyone was surprised.

Sigurd nodded in acknowledgment, then said,

"Greetings, Grandfather. Strength should be displayed when necessary; otherwise, letting other people know too much is not beneficial."

Hearing this, Bor and Odin were not surprised—after all, they had seen him since childhood.

Buri heard the words.

"You are quite powerful, yet you let your brother ascend to the throne. Do you not feel it would be better to have a more powerful king?"

Sigurd shook his head, then turned to look at Odin.

"Kings have to be good rulers for their people. Being strong does not make you a qualified ruler, and I will be there to assist him, so I do not think anyone has to worry. Besides, I do not like running a kingdom."

Buri still insisted, not letting him off easily.

"What about the future, when your children and his children grow up?"

Hearing this, even Odin had not thought about it.

Sigurd still shook his head.

"Who will run Asgard in the future will depend on their capability. If they cannot even hold Asgard as my brother has done, then they are not qualified rulers. Whether my children or Odin's children, they must prove their worth.

If they cannot, then there will be big questions for the future."

Then Sigurd turned toward Hela in the crib.

"The way I see it, she will have the strength to be a qualified ruler, but will she be wise? That is our job to make sure she learns the depth of this world."

Hearing this, even Odin felt his brother might have already made up his mind to make Hela the future ruler. He could not help but feel he was in a very tight position and felt bad for his and Sigurd's children.

Buri looked at Sigurd in surprise. He could feel Sigurd was determined to make Hela ruler, but why not give the option to others?

"But are you not being unfair to others when you have already determined that she will be queen?"

Sigurd still shook his head, then looked toward the outside world through a large window.

"They can prove their worth for the throne, but her fate intertwines with Asgard. Others can rule anywhere in the universe, but she will have difficulties, and her lifeline will be Asgard, so no one can protect Asgard more than she can."

Hearing Sigurd's words, Buri shook his head.

"But she will still be weak in comparison to others if she does not get any opportunities."

Odin looked at his grandfather and brother—one determined to know the other's heart, and the other not even concerned about the so-called kingdom. He could only sigh.

"If her priority is strength, then she will know whom to ask."

Buri looked at Sigurd but did not speak this time. Instead, he looked toward Bor.

"Your youngest son has quite a unique temperament."

Bor looked at his father when he heard this but could only explain,

"He has been like this since he was a child. Once he is determined about something, he will do it. He only listens to his mother."

Bestla heard this and gave him a sidelong glance.

"Father, you do not have to worry. Sigurd has always placed family above everything, so I do not think he will let anything go wrong."

Buri shook his head.

"I am not worried about anything happening to them, but I just wanted to learn about him in his own words. It seems the future of Asgard might be more entertaining."
