Chapter 42 - Back Home

Time passed by. It had been more than ten years in Hippolyta's world where he had stayed with her.

Sigurd looked at Hippolyta, who was sleeping beside him. He did not know how to talk with her about the situation—that he could not stay for a long time. After all, he had his own world to take care of. Just as he was thinking about how to deal with the situation he was in, Hippolyta woke up and looked toward him.

"What are you thinking, Sigurd? If there is any problem, you can speak."

Sigurd heard the words, then turned to see Hippolyta looking at him, expecting an answer.

"It is nothing. I will take care of it."

Hippolyta looked at him as if wanting to know more.

"You can speak. I know you have something on your mind, but if it creates a problem for you, then do not speak."

Sigurd looked into her eyes, then decided to speak.

"You know I am from a different world, right?"

Hippolyta looked at him, nodding.

"Yes, I have heard you speaking with others."

Sigurd did not know how to explain.

"My world is very different from this universe—or this multiverse. In my world, time works very differently. I have only stayed here for ten years, but in my world, more than a thousand years have passed. I do not exactly know how time works."

Hippolyta heard Sigurd's words and understood where he was going. She had seen very different worlds during her time with him and knew the multiverse in her reality had different time periods, but she did not expect that Sigurd's world's time would be even stranger.

"So you have to leave this world to go back to your own world. Does your family have any problems?"

Sigurd shook his head.

"No, my family does not have any problems, but it is related to my power. The older I get, the more powerful I will be. If I stay in this world, my power growth will be limited, but if I stay in my own world, my strength growth will be different."

Hippolyta heard the words and knew that Asgardians in this world also had the same trait, but she did not know how to respond to this problem. She now understood why he was hesitant, but now that the topic had come up, she did not know what response to give.

Sigurd looked toward Hippolyta's expression and knew she faced a difficult choice.

"You do not have to feel pressured, Hippolyta. Although I cannot say for certain about the future, I can at least stay here with you for a few more decades."

Hippolyta heard the words, but she still could not sort through her emotions.

"Sigurd, do you want me to go with you to your world?"

Sigurd heard the words but knew she spoke with a very heavy heart. He could feel her hand shaking a little, as she had a very emotional bond with this world and her sisters.

"Idiot, why would I take you far from your family? I was thinking how I should manage the balance between these two worlds' time, but you are thinking way ahead of yourself."

Hippolyta heard the words and felt a little relieved, then thought of the possibilities.

"Then what idea do you have, other than me going to your world? If we do not want to separate, then what will our relationship be? You cannot stay, and I cannot go—then what will happen to us? One of us will have to compromise, but our situation will not allow either of us to compromise."

Sigurd then considered the situation.

"Then why do I not travel here and there every few days or months? It will solve our problem, right?"

Hippolyta shook her head. "That will be very good for the short term, but what about the long term?"

Sigurd did not know what to do for the long term. He himself had no idea how to manage that.

Then he leaned near Hippolyta and kissed her on the lips for a few seconds.

"Let the future decide what our future will be."

A few more years passed in Themyscira, where Sigurd was enjoying his time.

At the same time, in Asgard, Odin looked toward his mother.

"Mother, you do not have to worry. He has already informed me that he will come back in a thousand years."

Bestla looked at Odin.

"Do not think that just because your father has decided to make you king, you can keep secrets from me. If you contact him, inform him to appear in Asgard as soon as possible."

Odin looked at his mother and knew that if Sigurd did not appear in a few years, his mother would make the whole matter a big mess, and he would not be able to hide Sigurd's information. But he himself did not know his whereabouts.

Just as Odin was thinking how to contact Sigurd, he felt his presence near the Bifrost. Odin disappeared from his palace.

Sigurd, who had been enjoying his relaxed life in Themyscira, was thrown out by Hippolyta.

"Damn it, what happened to her suddenly that she threw me out?"

Sigurd could only sigh about this. Then he walked toward the Rainbow Bridge, only to see Odin appear in front of him.

"Brother, you are still quite free to pick me up yourself."

Odin heard Sigurd's words but could not help feeling angry when he thought of how his mother had been torturing him to learn Sigurd's whereabouts.

"You had better have a good reason for making me lie about your messing around, otherwise I will personally teach you a lesson for making me lie."

Sigurd heard the words and could not help but feel guilty. After all, he did go on a trial, but it was only for a few years—the remaining time he had been enjoying another world.

Then he thought to himself,

If he knows about it, then I am sure he will be very pissed off, but at present I do not think Hippolyta will come to my world. As for other people, Odin will not ask about such small things.

Odin looked at Sigurd, who was mumbling to himself, and knew Sigurd had been fooling around somewhere, but he did not know where. Even Heimdall had not been able to find him.

"Brother, feel my cosmic energy, then I will tell you."

Odin heard the words and began to check Sigurd's power, only to feel a huge cosmic energy—but he did not understand what Sigurd had gone through in just a few thousand years.

"How is it that I feel your cosmic energy is at the same level as, or above, the Celestial I fought?"
