The two purple Destructo Discs tore through the air with a horrific screech. The rapidly spinning energy edges visibly distorted the surrounding atmosphere, tracking Goku's flight path in mid-air as if they had eyes of their own.
Sprawled in the rubble at the bottom of the crater, Frieza desperately maintained the control posture with his broken hands. Spitting bloody froth from his mouth, he spewed the most venomous curses.
"Go to hell!"
"Get sliced into mincemeat!"
"You d*mn filthy monkey!"
He poured every last drop of his mental fortitude into the two Destructo Discs, increasing their speed and sharpening their tracking angles.
Goku agilely wove through the air. He didn't choose to block them head-on. Even though a Super Saiyan's aura could deflect most attacks, these hyper-compressed cutting techniques still posed a genuine threat. Pushing his speed to the absolute limit, he zig-zagged between erupting magma pillars and floating debris. His golden aura painted a long, glowing afterimage across the sky.
The two purple Destructo Discs doggedly pursued him. Any obstacle in their path—whether hundred-meter-tall stone pillars or erupting volcanic rock—was effortlessly sliced through like tofu. The cuts were as smooth as a mirror.
In the distance, Akainu's eyes widened. Watching the two purple halos, his Adam's apple bobbed nervously. The cutting power of those things was absurdly exaggerated. If that move had been used against him earlier, he would have been sliced in half before he could even activate his Armament Haki. He had absolutely no idea if his Mag-Mag Fruit's elementalization could withstand that kind of energy displacement.
Kaido lay flat in the mud, swearing profusely as he watched the aerial pursuit.
"That runt is so f*cking treacherous," he spat. "Can't win in a straight fight, so he resorts to these dirty underhanded tricks." He figured his proud Demon Dragon Body wouldn't even last a single second against those things.
Hiding in a fissure, Doflamingo watched the all-severing purple halos and suddenly felt that his prized String-String Fruit was an absolute joke. His strings were also meant for cutting, but compared to these Destructo Discs, it was like taking a rusty kitchen knife to a block of solid steel. They weren't even in the same dimension of power.
Up in the sky, Goku continued to lead the Destructo Discs in circles. He quickly recognized the flaw in this technique. Homing attacks relied entirely on the user's mental lock-on. Frieza was completely running on fumes; his control precision simply couldn't keep up with a Super Saiyan's movement speed.
A mocking smirk curled the corner of Goku's mouth. He abruptly hit the brakes in mid-air, the air beneath his feet exploding with a sharp bang. Instantly reversing direction, he dove straight down toward Frieza like a golden meteor, carrying an unstoppable momentum.
Seeing this, Frieza didn't panic. Instead, a cruel, sadistic smile spread across his face.
"Idiot!"
"You're just throwing your life away!"
He instantly maneuvered the two Destructo Discs to flank Goku from the left and right, completely sealing off all routes of escape. The speed of the discs surged once more. They were mere moments away from slicing into Goku's back.
Ten meters.
Five meters.
One meter.
Frieza's eyes practically sparkled with manic joy. He could already vividly picture the Saiyan being diced into bloody chunks.
Just as the Destructo Discs were about to graze Goku's back, Goku raised his right hand, pressing his index and middle fingers together lightly against his forehead.
"What?" Frieza froze.
Goku vanished into thin air. He left absolutely no trace of his ki behind. There was no warning, completely defying all laws of physics.
The smile on Frieza's face solidified. His brain blanked out for a brief second.
Where did he go?
Before Frieza could even process what had happened, the two Destructo Discs meant to butcher Goku had lost their target. Carrying a terrifying amount of inertia and cutting force, they careened straight toward Frieza's own face.
The distance was too close. The speed was too fast. Frieza didn't even have the strength to stand up, let alone dodge. He could only watch helplessly as his own ultimate attack expanded infinitely in his pupils.
"No—!" Frieza let out a howl of utter despair.
Squelch. The sickening sound of sharp blades cleaving through flesh and blood rang out, exceptionally piercing in the sudden quiet of the battlefield. The two purple Destructo Discs crisscrossed directly through Frieza's body. Meeting zero resistance, they sliced deep into the bedrock beneath him, carving two bottomless trenches into the earth.
Frieza's scream cut off abruptly. His eyes were wide open, bulging so far out they almost popped from their sockets. A perfectly smooth, bloody line manifested across his waist.
A second later, copious amounts of purple blood sprayed wildly into the air. His mutilated upper torso slid off the clean cut, slamming heavily onto the scalding rocks. His lower half remained sprawled exactly where it had been.
The mighty Emperor of the Universe had been bisected at the waist by his own technique.
A harrowing, agonizing shriek tore through the sky. Digging his hands desperately into the dirt, Frieza's upper half thrashed and rolled in agony, his purple internal organs spilling out across the ground.
Goku reappeared in the air. Looking down at the writhing, tormented Frieza, his golden aura continued to burn, but the intense killing intent in his emerald eyes was slowly fading.
The battle was over. In his current state, Frieza couldn't even defeat a normal human, let alone pose a threat to him.
Goku floated down, touching the ground a few meters away from Frieza. He stared quietly at the once-untouchable tyrant. There was no thrill of vengeance in his heart, only a profound sense of emptiness. Krillin wasn't coming back. Even killing Frieza wouldn't change that immutable fact.
Frieza stopped rolling. Forcing his head up, his face caked in mud and blood, he looked at Goku. His eyes were flooded with terror and despair.
He didn't want to die. He had conquered countless galaxies and possessed eternal wealth and longevity. He absolutely could not die on this barren, forsaken rock.
Reaching a mud-stained hand toward Goku, Frieza's voice trembled pathetically.
"S… save me…"
"Please…"
"Give me a little of your ki…"
"Let me live…"
The high and mighty Emperor was now as subservient as a dog begging for scraps.
Hearing this from afar, Akainu began cursing vehemently.
"This piece of trash still wants to live!?" he roared. "Just crush his skull under your boot!" He harbored a deep, visceral hatred for evil scumbags who treated human life like grass. If it were him, he would have long since incinerated the bastard to ash with his magma.
Kaido looked equally disgusted. "What a spineless piece of garbage. Even if I were dying, I'd never beg the enemy for mercy."
Goku said nothing. He just looked quietly at Frieza. Images flashed through his mind—Krillin being impaled by the energy beam, the slaughtered Namekians. Was someone like this truly worth saving?
He closed his eyes and took a deep breath. The nature of a Saiyan was inherently warlike and brutal. But having been raised on Earth, a core of kindness always remained in his heart. It was what his Grandpa Gohan had taught him back in Mount Paozu.
Opening his eyes, Goku's gaze was entirely calm.
"You can go."
Raising his right hand, a speck of golden light illuminated his fingertips. A pure strand of ki flicked off his finger, landing precisely on Frieza's mangled torso. The golden energy rapidly assimilated into his flesh, stabilizing his fading life force. It wasn't much, but it was enough for him to escape before the planet detonated.
Having done this, Goku turned his back. Refusing to look at Frieza again, he prepared to find the spaceship he arrived in and leave this doomed world.
In the distance, Akainu stomped his foot in frustration.
"The compassion of a woman!" he bellowed. "Why would you leave a disaster like that alive!?"
Kaido shook his head. "The kid's strong, sure. But his heart's too soft. He's gonna suffer for it sooner or later."
Watching from the tavern, Sengoku frowned deeply. He absolutely despised the act of letting a tiger return to the mountain.
Back on the surface of Namek, Frieza gasped greedily for air. Feeling the Saiyan's ki temporarily anchoring his life, he stared at Goku's retreating figure. Beneath his lowered eyelids, there was not a single shred of gratitude. There was only a twisted, festering malice.
He, the Emperor of the Universe, had to rely on the charity of a low-class warrior to survive. This was the greatest humiliation he had ever endured in his entire life. It hurt far more than being sliced in two. The humiliation gnawed at his heart like a venomous snake. He absolutely could not swallow this insult.
Biting his lip again, the metallic taste of rusty, purple blood filled his mouth. Quietly, stealthily, Frieza channeled the tiny sliver of ki he had just been given, pooling it together with the last vestiges of his own power. He directed it all to the tip of his right index finger.
A glaring red light ignited at his fingertip. It was his final, concentrated burst of killing intent.
