Chapter 249 - Chapter 246

The end of October arrived faster than expected, and with it came the first-ever Quarterly Exams in Hogwarts history.

Students panicked.Libraries overflowed.Hufflepuffs created study groups.Ravenclaws created study cults.Gryffindors pretended not to care but secretly studied at night.Slytherins acted confident but were seen reviewing notes at 3 AM.

And then the exams were over.

A week later, the results came out—and the entire school buzzed louder than Fred and George's fireworks.

Some students fainted from joy. Some fainted from shock.A few fainted simply because they saw Umbridge's face in the hallway.

The Staff Meeting: The Unexpected Growth

Roy called for a professor meeting in the Headmaster's office.

As Professors McGonagall, Snape, Flitwick, Sprout, Vector, and the others approached the gargoyle, it moved aside the moment they said Roy's password:

"Yaksha."

Even the gargoyle seemed to enjoy the new theme.

They climbed the spiral staircase and entered the office to find Roy sitting behind his desk, quill moving quickly as he reviewed parchment after parchment.

"Please, have a seat," Roy said without looking up.

When everyone settled, he handed each professor two stacks of parchment:

This year's Quarterly Exam results.

The last three years' performance averages.

The professors scanned the numbers.

Filius Flitwick blinked.Professor Sprout gasped.McGonagall raised a brow in impressed surprise.Even Snape stiffened slightly.

The improvements were undeniable.

"Grades have increased across all houses," Roy said calmly, leaning back in his chair. "Some students improved by as much as twenty to thirty percent."

Sprout beamed.Flitwick clapped his tiny hands.McGonagall's lips twitched upward.

Snape didn't smile, but his eyebrow moved—a Snape equivalent of cheering.

The Problem Beneath the Success

"But," Roy continued, his expression growing serious, "we have another issue."

The professors exchanged glances."What kind of issue?" McGonagall asked.

Roy tapped the workload charts.

"Increasing grades means increasing expectations. And Hogwarts currently has seven years and only four main professors for the core subjects."

Everyone fell silent.

It was true. They had been drowning in work for years without admitting it.

Snape rubbed his temples.Sprout sighed.Flitwick nodded slowly.McGonagall… already looked like she needed tea.

Roy pushed a new parchment forward.

"That's why we will be restructuring."

Roy's Plan: Dividing Hogwarts

"For each subject," Roy said, "we will split teaching responsibilities."

Grades 1–4

→ To be handled by newly recruited professors.

Grades 5–7

→ To be taught by:McGonagall (Transfiguration)Flitwick (Charms)Sprout (Herbology)Snape (Potions)

The senior professors exchanged surprised looks—but pleased ones.Teaching OWL and NEWT levels only meant fewer classes and more focused tutoring.

"I'll need recommendations," Roy continued, "for younger witches or wizards who match Hogwarts' standards to teach the lower years."

McGonagall nodded immediately.Sprout hummed thoughtfully.Flitwick already had a list in mind.

Then Roy turned to Snape.

"And for Potions… I plan to bring back Professor Horace Slughorn."

Snape nodded without complaint. In fact, he seemed relieved.

"Better him than that pink toad," he muttered.

Roy pretended not to hear.

Snape's Request

"One more matter," Snape said quietly.

Roy looked up.

"I want the Defence Against the Dark Arts position."

The room went still.

Roy raised a hand. "Not yet. You know the curse is still active. When we clear it—then we will speak again."

Snape accepted this with a stiff nod.It wasn't a 'no.'It was a promise.

A New Era

With their tasks assigned, plans made, and responsibilities shared, the professors left the office with a sense of relief.

Roy leaned back, breathing out as the door closed.

The restructuring of Hogwarts had officially begun.

And the castle, for the first time in decades, felt ready for a new era—one shaped not by fear or stagnation, but by innovation, growth, and the quiet authority of the Yaksha Headmaster.
