Chapter 2 - Chapter 2: The Wrath of the Grand Duke

Two weeks had passed since the night blood was spilled on Valvas soil — the night the Lestrange family fell.

Darius Valvas, the Grand Duke, sat in his study, the faint glow of candlelight reflecting off medals from wars long past. His face, calm but sharp as a blade, betrayed no emotion as his guards knelt before him.

"My Lord," one reported, "the Dark Lord Voldemort is dead. Killed by a two-year-old child — Harry Potter, son of James and Lily Potter. The wizarding world now calls him The Boy Who Lived."

A silence settled across the room.

Jessica gasped softly, hand over her heart. "Then... it's over?"

Alex placed a hand on her shoulder. "For now. But the wizarding world owes us a debt."

Darius' gaze turned cold, his voice deep and commanding.

"Prepare the transport. We are going to London. The Ministry of Magic must understand that the House of Valvas is not to be trifled with."

The Visit to the Ministry

Two days later, the great atrium of the British Ministry of Magic was filled with murmurs and whispers. A line of men in black suits, armed and silent, marched through the golden gates — Muggles, yet their presence radiated power.

At their head walked two figures: Darius Valvas and his son, Alex.

Darius wore his military uniform, adorned with medals from campaigns that wizards had only heard about in rumors. The moment he entered, even the air seemed to grow heavier.

Behind him, Alex's eyes were like steel — calm, noble, but dangerous.

Cornelius Fudge, still a junior official at the time, swallowed nervously as he watched the pair stride toward the meeting chamber.

Inside, Dumbledore stood waiting — his calm eyes studying Darius with quiet respect. He knew the man's reputation well: the Grand Duke of France, a general whose command could sway nations.

Darius didn't bow. He simply spoke.

"Two weeks ago, my daughter-in-law, Jessica Valvas — born Jessica Frostborne — was attacked by the Lestrange family. They trespassed upon my estate, attempted assassination, and paid for it with their lives."

His aura flared — cold, sharp, imperial. Every wizard in the chamber froze. A wave of killing intent filled the hall, making wands tremble in their holders. Even the enchanted ceiling flickered.

"If anyone from the wizarding world ever lays a hand on my family again," he said slowly, "I will erase their name from history — magic or not."

A deadly silence.

Dumbledore finally spoke, his voice measured. "I understand your anger, old friend. I will see that the Ministry acknowledges the attack and compensates your family appropriately."

Darius' eyes narrowed. "Then the Lestrange assets — all of them — will belong to House Valvas. Consider it the price for spilling noble blood on my land."

The ministers exchanged terrified glances. No one dared refuse.

Finally, Dumbledore nodded. "Agreed."

Alex stepped forward, his voice calm but carrying the weight of finality.

"Let it also be known that my wife, Jessica Valvas, shall never be approached or contacted by the British wizarding world. She will live free of your politics. Any attempt to use her heritage for your gain will be considered an act of aggression against the Valvas family — and the House of Este."

The warning echoed through the chamber like a decree.

Aftermath

The next day, The Daily Prophet and Wizarding Weekly carried the shocking headline:

"House of Lestrange Declared Extinct — Assets Transferred to Valvas Family."

"Foreign Noble House Issues Warning to the Ministry — 'Do Not Touch the Frostborne Bloodline.'"

Rumors spread like wildfire. Some whispered that even Dumbledore had bowed to the Grand Duke's will. Others claimed the Valvas family commanded Muggle armies powerful enough to crush wizarding Britain if provoked.

Whatever the truth, one thing was certain — from that day on, no one in the wizarding world dared to mention the name Jessica Frostborne again.

And in the halls of the Valvas estate, young Roy Valvas — now three years old — played in silence, his diamond-blue eyes reflecting both innocence and hidden knowledge.

In his mind, a voice whispered:

[New Quest: Strengthen House Valvas — Reward: Bloodline Enhancement (Frostborne Variant)]

The world of magic had just begun to change.
