To Elias, lying was something he never wanted to do to Soren and the very thought of it made his chest feel tight.
If he lied, even about something small, it would mean betraying the trust Soren had placed in him and that was the last thing Elias ever wanted. More than that, he knew that lying to Soren was almost pointless.
Soren had always relied on his instincts to survive.
Because of that, he had developed an unusually sharp sense for people's emotions. He could feel when something was off, when someone was hiding something or when the truth was being twisted. It wasn't something he explained often but those close to him knew that deceiving Soren was never easy and Elias knew this better than anyone.
That was why the secret had been weighing heavily on him these past few days. Ever since Gideon and Caelius had accidentally run into him, the two of them had approached Elias with a request and they asked him to tell Soren that they wanted to meet him.
