Chapter 61 - Battle to Seize the Carrier

"How are we supposed to get there?"After ending the call, Ryougi Shiki asked the question.

With the Mirage gone and Saiki Kusuo no longer present, they were extremely far from the offshore carrier base.

"We can only ask an ally for help."Shen He pulled another wristband from his pocket.

Ever since encountering Crystal at the North Pole last time, he had maintained contact with the Inhumans on the Moon.

Black Bolt used certain technologies and rare lunar resources to exchange for food and supplies from Earth.

This cooperation was a win-win for both Chaldea and the Inhuman Royal Family.

"Crystal, are you free? I might need to borrow your big dog."Shen He sent the message along with his coordinates.

"Mr. Shen, I'll come immediately."

Almost at the exact moment her message arrived, Crystal and her giant dog appeared in front of Shen He.

The air thick with the smell of burning, corpses scattered everywhere, and flames roaring across the battlefield—Crystal was startled by the sight.

"We're fighting an evil organization," Shen He explained briefly. "My aircraft was destroyed. We need to reach the next battlefield urgently, so I could only ask you for help."

"Evil organization?"Crystal was frightened, but quickly drawn in by his words."Like in fairy tales? I've read stories like that—evil villains capturing Inhumans for research."

"...That doesn't sound like a fairy tale at all... Anyway, just send us there. Time is tight—let's pick someone up first."Shen He gave Crystal Lelouch's location.

Lelouch's ability was the key to Shen He's plan to take control of the aircraft carrier.

"Master, come look at this."

At that moment, Jeanne, who had been inspecting the battlefield in the distance, called out.

When Shen He and the others walked over, they found several iron boxes, clearly quite old.

Each box was marked in white paint with the letters and numbers SSR·084.

These items were all mysterious unknown objects previously contained by S.H.I.E.L.D. Evidently, Alexander had secretly smuggled them out.

"We can't leave these here."Shen He used the lunar ichor to lift the iron crates."Crystal?"

He noticed Crystal staring blankly at one of the boxes.

"No, it's nothing."

Crystal snapped out of it and shook her head. She had just felt something strange.

Crystal's giant dog, Lockjaw, possessed ultra-long-distance teleportation, even capable of freely transporting people between the Moon and Earth.

So they first transported the items recovered from the battlefield back to the company base for secure storage, then took Lelouch and, using the coordinates provided by Agent Hill, teleported to the aircraft carrier battlefield on the ocean.

The moment they arrived, they stepped directly into a real battlefield.

It was still only dusk here. The sunset stained the sky orange-red, and countless fighter jets of the same model circled overhead in an intense aerial battle.

Jets were exploding into fireballs, missiles streaked through the sky with burning trails, and fully armed paratroopers were descending in large numbers.

Although both sides were restricting their firepower to avoid destroying the entire carrier, the battle was still exceedingly fierce.

The flight deck was already a complete wreck, and enemies were constantly climbing up from the sides via ropes.

The moment Shen He and the others arrived, all warring parties shifted their focus to them.

After a brief pause, gunfire and artillery rained down on them. Even the automated gun turrets on the deck opened fire, but everything was blocked by the lunar ichor rapidly expanding around Shen He.

This five-star equipment's high mobility and flexibility made it practically an all-purpose weapon—its only flaw was the enormous mana consumption.

So it was best to end the battle quickly.

"Crystal, head back first.Jeanne, activate your Noble Phantasm and protect Lelouch."

Two stylish pistols appeared in Shen He's hands as he issued commands with precise gunfire.

"Violet, take out all the assault troops climbing up. They're all enemies.Shiki, you and I will deal with the annoying auto-turrets.Lelouch—once you've controlled enough people, push straight toward the center.Battle start!"

This plan accounted for nearly everyone's abilities and safety. Though still somewhat immature, Shen He was steadily advancing toward becoming a capable and powerful Master.

Jeanne raised her banner and muttered a prayer.

Noble Phantasm — The Lord Is With Me!

A golden halo spread from the banner, enveloping Lelouch. Bullets and even artillery shells created only ripples when striking it.

Taking advantage of this, Lelouch controlled everyone within his line of sight, commanding them like chess pieces with terrifying precision to seize the aircraft carrier.

Meanwhile, Shen He used the lunar ichor to shield Ryougi Shiki as they advanced toward the auto-turrets.

"Why am I the one dealing with these?"Shiki nonchalantly thrust her blade into the turret's interior and pulled it out.

From the outside, the turret looked untouched—but it halted instantly. Its functionality as a weapon had been "killed."

The killing intent radiating from Shiki was so intense that Shen He, standing right beside her, felt as though his skin was burning—goosebumps erupted across his body.

"Don't you only show killing intent toward things you want to kill?"He spoke while guiding her toward the next turret—there was still time for conversation.

"But this is a battlefield."Shiki's face was expressionless, even tinged with coldness."A battlefield is a place where killing is purest. Even strangers can kill each other with overwhelming killing intent.Shen He… you've protected me too well.I haven't been able to fully release myself."

"...But you also don't have Violet's skill for protecting yourself during battle."Shen He shook his head.

He knew Shiki relished the feeling of reality brought by risking death—but from a Master's standpoint, that danger was unnecessary.

Shiki said no more. She simply followed Shen He, destroying the turrets one after another.

By now, Lelouch had already assembled a sizeable force, driving the enemy back step by step and establishing defensive positions.

When the last heavy weapons turret was eliminated, Shiki's sword stance suddenly changed.

Until now, she had been holding the sword in one hand. Now she gripped it with both hands.

In the same instant, she shot out of the lunar ichor's protection and charged straight toward Violet's battlefield. The enemies ahead raised rifles and opened fire—Shiki advanced with footwork that defied belief, slipping through the gaps between bullets, her blade flashing in lethal strikes.

This was… self-hypnosis?

Shen He stared wide-eyed.

He suddenly remembered—Shiki had undergone special sword training, capable of using self-suggestion to unlock her potential and display her strongest state.

Shiki knew Shen He's mana was running low.

She was proving her strength—showing Shen He he didn't need to worry about her safety.
