Kyle stared at his dash board like it had just insulted his intelligence, he couldn't be bothered about the blaring horn from the car around him or the noises of the students catching up on each other, no he just stared there in silence eyes fixed on the dash board.
"Why?" He managed to ask himself again and again.
A knock from the window pulled him back to the real world.
"Hey, babe ready for a new school year" Cathy voice came, his fuck buddy who wouldn't leave him alone.
He literally looked past her like air, walking towards the school was Ayla, without batting her an eyelid he got out of the car and started walking.
"Ahhhhh" Cathy scream in frustration.
"Sonner or later you will be mine Kyle Carter"
"Yooo, man killer party last night" a guy he didn't even know came forward to shake him.
"Last night party was lit" another chimed and suddenly a swarm of guys surrounded him.
He turned him head again and didn't see any sign of Alya.
"Space" only one word it took for every eye to turn towards him, the guys gave him space watching curiously and the girls couldn't get enough of his body.
A girl literally fainted.
But he didn't care, he was used to it by now, he was a player after all.
"Ayla" he shouted!
But she didn't answer instead she hasten her steps, he took small strides hastening his steps a little and easily caught up with her .
"Miel" he grabbed her softly by her arm.
"What?" a look of annoyance in her eyes.
"What do you mean what, do you know I waited for you today only for me to find out that you didn't want to go with me, you didn't even have the decency to tell me , text me even"
" So what, I should kneel and beg his royal highness" her voice getting higher, with a hint of sarcasm by now everyone was staring some pulling out their phones.
"I didn't say that" his voice a little soft " We've been going together since you joined the school everyday and only for you to change all of a sudden. Wait, is this because of what happened between us, I mean it's not that deep " he added the last part playfully.
"And what happened between us, hmmm?"
The pain, the heartbreaking and her feelings came rushing back. The way he made it sound so casual as if she had not given him her first time as if her first time meant nothing to him made it hurt ten times more.
"To be real, I don't like going with you, you're not all that cut me some slack okay" and she walked out on him without listening to him
He froze, the entire school froze. Never had any one dare talk to him that way before, except his mom. The people were holding their breath waiting for what to happen
He turned backwards slightly, his figure and aura commanding respect and fear, no words spoken but everyone scrambled.
Kyle got in his car and left.

"Babbbbyyy" A random voice squealed
"Girllllllll"
"Shut your mouth or I'll shut it for you" Cathy entered the hallway with her minions .
"Honestly, I don't know why they accepted," eyeing the two girls from up to down "trash like you into this school"
"Agreed, they are spoiling out image" one of her lacky eager to impress her voiced.
She turned to her "And you allowed you to speak?"
"I just thought"
She cut her off" Gina, get her out of my face and I don't want to be seeing her again. And next time you bring trash like her, you can fuck off too"
The lacky instantly collapsed, Cathy Louis had dismissed her, that was like social suicide she ran this school, anything she said goes, no exceptions no second chances she was doomed. She had worked so hard to get on Cathy's good books but now…
"Please I'm sorry" she sobbed" but two girls were already dragging her across the hallway
"I'm sorry" she shouted
"Ahhh, what a morning dealing with filth" Cathy sighed, clawing her hand the girl had touched just now with a handkerchief. She threw the dirty handkerchief to one person and the person held it up like gold, honestly it was actually.
She turned to the other lacky, Gina "Something is bugging you, talk to me"
"It's about Kyle, he and Ayla had a problem today, he's not in school
Her eyes glistered like light put on Christmas morning "where is she"
"Her locker" Gina responded quickly, she had learnt the hard way that failure for anything was brutal
Without sparing her another word, Cathy made her move
"Cathy is coming" Gina announced
Like sync everyone in the hallway made way for her to pass, clearing the way like she was royalty, I mean she is.
Ayla by her locker trying to figure out were her maths textbooks was, when her locker was shut she looked up and as expected,
"Cathy!" in an expatriated voice "It's nice seeing you how was the break"
Cathy flung her hair sideways "It's always nice seeing me, I mean come on. How does it feels for your guardian angel has left you, to fall from grace to grace" a proud smirk playing on her face. She had always been looking for a way to hurt Ayla without Kyle knowing and now this was her perfect opportunity to mark her territory.
"Nobody fell alright, and I need to get to class, it was nice seeing you"
"Nobody is going anywhere" Cathy yanked her back " Do you know what this mean, I can do what the hell I want to with you" An evil smile forming on her face. She snarled her fingers giving them the go to sign.
" Hey let me go" Ayla scremed desperately but the girls didn't bulge. They held unto her tightly like their lives depended on it.
"She said let her go" a cool voice, sharp as thunder
A guy walked casually towards them, he is tall, light, and handsome with a charming smile and a confident swagger. His eyes are were baby blue and his hair is curly and blond. He's wearing a crisp white shirt and our navy blue pants, looking like he just stepped out of a fashion magazine.
"Alex" Cathy voice came without looking up.
"Are you deaf, let her go" cool as ever!
"Or what"?
He whispered something in her ear that made her freeze up instantly, she signaled her minions to let Ayla go
"This isn't over" she smiled and waved at Ayla which made her shiver .
He turned to Ayla "You okay?, do you need to go to the nurse?'
"Yah, my shoulder hurts a bit but it will be okay, thanks for your help and I don't know what would have happened without you
"No problem" he extended his hand for a handshake "I'm he began
"Alexander Knight, mayor's son yeah, I know who you are and pretty much every one in this school, if there's anything you need don't bother asking I kinda owe you."
"Maybe your number" He gave a wink that could melt an ice statue .
"Maybe next time, I gotta head to class" she smiled back and got up.
"See you around "
He stared at her back as she left then got a phone call
"Yeah" he told the caller "Phase one complete"
He and the caller kept arguing about something until he cut the call
"I will get you Ayla Martain"
....
"Dad, I'm home" Ayla called
"Dad?"
She checked the house but they was no sign of her dad, the living room, his bedroom, her bedroom no sign of him
"This is the last place, you have to be here"
She got to the kitchen and found a note taped to the fridge
"Out to get groceries, love you"
"Ahk, he's always out for something nowadays. Let's see coffee, coffee and coffee, there's nothing here. That's why he went to get groceries silly." She gave herself a little playful smack on the forehead and went upstairs for the day.
