Monica had been tormented by Luke and his men physically so she was really weak and full of injuries that was the reason she could not even get up on her feet.
Alex said "Monica take these healing pills it will help you recover the lost dou qi in your body and your injuries will get healed."
Monica took the pills and said "Thank you Alex."
She consumed the pills and sat cross legged on the ground cultivating to recover her lost dou qi. With the effect of the healing pills she recovered her strenght in just fifteen minutes and all her external injuries were healed.
When Alex cared for her and gave her the pills and then protected her while she was meditating she remembered that this was how Alex used to treat her previously. She clearly felt the difference between the two mens. Alex used to treat her so tenderly and with care like she was a flower.
He always thought of her needs first and brought her gifts but she thought he was just simping for him and was weak. Perhaps because she got everything she wanted without even asking she thought this was something she was entitled to get and every person will treat her the same. And when she got awakened with a Grade Three Spirit Root she felt everyone is beneath her and that Alex who got a Grade One Spirit Root was a nobody.
With her Grade Three Spirit Root she will be accepted by anybody and she will rule over the hearts of the boys however the truth was entirely different and she was very wrong which she found out the moment she dumped Alex and went with Luke. On the first night he demanded her body and when he got it he was rude with her and treated her roughly. She felt like he was with her only because of this and she felt like he used her and threw her just like how she used Alex and then dumped him. That was the reason she felt guilt.
When she tried to come out of the relationship he will not even let her go and she felt like she was trapped. Because Luke had threatened to make her life hell and not only her but also her family will be harmed so she was powerless. Then today he took Monica on a hunting trip in the jungle and tried to sell her with some of his friends just for some benefits. People are like that and they are all selfish wheather it was a man or a woman. Previously even she treated Alex like that so she vowed that if ever she get the chance to be with Alex in the future she will treat him well.
A man who can care like Alex are very rare. After the cultivation session she was fully recovered however she felt like she was in Love with Alex in true sense. It was a different matter that previously she did not value him but now things had changed significantly. Even Alex was so powerfull and wealthy she felt like she should get him back at all cost. She knew Alex's personality and thought he would never say no to her. So she gathered her courage and determined something in her mind.
Then she got up from her position and thanked Alex again and said "Alex Even though I know I don't deserve you, I still want to know if there's any chance we could reconcile."
Alex said "Offcourse as I said you were my childhood friend and we will always be friends in the future."
Monica held Alex's hand and said "Alex I was referring to the possibility of us resuming our relationship as boyfriend and girlfriend. Alex, please accept me don't say no. I was wrong to treat you that way for so long. I took it for granted because I was unable to appreciate or recognise how well you treated me, but now I understand how wonderful you are and how well you have treated me throughout the years. Please accept me I'm in love with you, Alex."
Alex said "Monica I am already in a relationship now with Elizabeth whom you saw at the Mall. But we will be friends okay."
Monica could not accept that she could not be with Alex and was not able to control her emotions so she hugged Alex and forcefully kissed him "No Alex you have to comeback to me. Mmmuuah. You are only mine."
Monica still believed she could control Alex if she sobbed or forced herself on him, but she was unaware that this was a different Alex and that her words would no longer have the same effect. He was a transmigrator and a different man after all so he will not have the same feelings for her which the actual Alex had so the present Alex cannot be manipulated by her anymore.
Alex held Monica on her shoulders and distanced her from himself and said "You're being emotional, Monica. Be understanding and reasonable. I am now dating someone, and tomorrow I will get engaged to the Princess. Therefore, even though we are unable to be together, I will always be available if you need me in the future."
Seeing Alex rejecting her advances again and again she stopped forcing herself on him and stood there silently as she understood that for now she could never win Alex back as she thought in her mind "It seems you have changed Alex. Previously you would have always accepted me but now you can decline me. I know that Elizabeth is behind this but don't worry I will make my self capable enough to win you back."
Monica said "I am sorry Alex I had lost control of my emotions. I do not deserve you and I will not hold you back any longer. Elizabeth is a Princess and she is deserving of you. I hope that you are happy with her in the future."
Alex patted her head and said "Thank you Monica for understanding and I also hope that you find a suitable partner for yourself in the future."
