His eyes flutter open and he sees Anna sitting by his bed holding his hand. "Anna what happened?" He asks. He notices Rebecca wearing a skimpy maid outfit holding his other hand, Rebecca why, oh my mother must have sent you here, as he looks around he sees another 4 women in skimpy maid outfits at the foot of his bed, Rebecca's twin sisters and her 2 cousins. "So I have 5 new personal maids now?" Asks Gareth. "Yes, and your mother said to enjoy your time with them." Anna giggles. "You must be really upset with Rebecca Anna." Gareth states. "Yes, I can't stand the thought that you almost married her, and she has no loyalty for you." Anna commented. Rebecca interjects, "please, I didn't have a choice, I never meant to hurt you." That's irrelevant now, introduce me to my maids. Hannas cousin Sarah, the most beautiful introduced herself and immediately tries to get on Gareth's good side touching his chest provocatively. "Please don't do this." Rebecca states to her cousin. "I would rather have his interest and be his consort then a maid." Sarah replies confidently. Gareth barely conscious tells Sarah to take him to the bath. Rebecca replies, only I should do that, but Gareth says, I asked Sarah.
Over three weeks the ex royalty becomes accustomed to their new fates. Rebecca's twin sisters Jessica and Jasmine follow Gareth like a quiet shadow, seemingly content with their role, Rebecca is noticeably down as she follows Sarah, who openly seeks Gareth's attention, offering to fulfill any wants he has. The last maid Amy, Rebecca other cousin and Sarah's sister is more reserved and shy, but only Rebecca seems to find the situation difficult of the 5. The other 5 ex Royals however, we're assigned to the castle at large, and ended up with grueling manual labor tasks. Her aunt is now a palace cook, and her uncle works the stables. Her brother and 2 male cousins are also sent to the stables, and they all went from a life of luxury to misery.
Gareth distracts himself from the war, and worries about his missing father by embracing Sarah's antics to get revenge against Rebecca. Even though he never has gone farther then caressing her curves, it is enough for Rebecca to feel pain and regret over her choices.
