After leaving the Academy grounds Rufus with his guards tries to assainate Gareth. "Anna we are surrounded." Gareth remarks dryly. "I will rip them all to shreds!" Anna angerly exclaims.
While Gareth fights for his life, Rebecca calls her mother crying on the communication device. "Mom, this contract is magically enforced, it's making me choose 10 members of our family to be enslaved!" Rebecca's mother panicked and called the king, and he replied coldly. "Obviously this is your fault for not convincing him to wait, you will choose yourself, your twin sisters who just turned 19, the second prince and your aunt uncle and 4 cousins. Your mother and I will do what we can to save you." Rebecca breaks down, "i never asked for this, I never agreed to a relationship with Rufus." Her father replied. "Do what I said, or I'll make your life miserable." Rebecca cries and says. "I knew I should have never betrayed him, if I stood by his side, my life would be so much better. I regret listening to you father and mother, and I will never forgive you." Rebecca ends the transmission and locks herself in her room after filling out the form, giving away her and her sister's freedom is the biggest pain she has ever faced.
As Gareth deals lightning strikes to the assassins, it is down to him, Anna, Rufus and 4 assassins. As Anna and the assassins clash, Rufus tries a sneak attack on Gareth, but he absorbs the water whip spell with his strong physique and counters with a lightning bolt, which destroys Rufus' right arm, leaving a charred mess of flesh. Rufus starts sweating profusely, and tries to talk his way into escaping. Just as he threatens Gareth, he pulls out his sword and decapitated Rufus. The remaining assassins, froze in shock as they expected at worst he would be captured, not brutally slain. Anna uses their distraction, and slays the 4 remaining assailants quickly. Anna notices Gareth is bleeding and quickly embraced him, are you OK, she's asks.
Gareth grunts through the pain, now noticing how deep the water whip had wounded him across his chest. "Anna i... I should have" as Gareth collapsed, Anna immediately started healing him, and she carried him to safety returning to his palace.
As Gareth escaped danger, his father was ambushed on the front lines, king Lucian found himself surrounded, and fought off an army by himself for hours. When the dust settled, the attacking army and king Lucian were no where to be found.
