Chapter 9 : The final love story
As they arrived in Paris, Alexander and Emily were swept up in the city's magic. They strolled along the Seine, holding hands and laughing, taking in the sights and sounds of the City of Light.
They visited the Eiffel Tower, the Louvre, and Notre Dame, and even took a romantic cruise down the river. Every moment they spent together was pure bliss.
One evening, as they sat at a charming bistro, sipping wine and watching the sunset, Alexander turned to Emily and said, "You know, I was thinking... why don't we make Paris our second home? We can come here whenever we want, and make it our own little escape."
Emily's eyes sparkled with excitement. "I'd love that," she said, smiling.
Alexander smiled back, feeling happy and content. He knew that he had made the right decision, leaving the past behind and starting anew with Emily.
As they finished their wine, Alexander pulled out a small box from his pocket and got down on one knee.
"Emily, my love," he said, his voice trembling with emotion. "Will you marry me?"
Emily's eyes widened in shock, and she nodded eagerly. "Yes, yes, a million times yes!"
Alexander slid the ring onto her finger, and they shared a kiss as the city lights twinkled around them.
As they walked back to their hotel, hand in hand, Emily turned to Alexander and said, "You know, I have one more surprise for you."
Alexander raised an eyebrow, intrigued. "Oh? What's that?"
Emily smiled, her eyes sparkling with mischief. "I'm pregnant."
Alexander's eyes widened in shock, and he swept Emily up in a hug. "Really? We're having a baby?"
Emily nodded, laughing. "Really."
As they hugged, Alexander felt a surge of happiness wash over him. He knew that their love story was only just beginning, and he couldn't wait to see what the future held.
