Chapter 29 — Before The Party
Idalia quickly looked to her side and, when she found Arik still lying there, heaved a silent sigh of relief. She looked around the room quickly after, the restlessness in her veins becoming even more.
Was there someone in the room?
The light curtains at the window blew in with the breeze. Rosabel was still sleeping, and it was still dark outside.
There seemed to be nobody around.
Thought in pain, Idalia stood up from the bed gently, pretending to be sleepwalking as she went to the door and tried to open it.
It was locked, just as Rosabel had left it.
She mumbled some words to herself, pretending to be disoriented.
The iron bars at the window were still intact. She wondered if they had left the window open last night.
They had.
Relaying on the small light from the bulb above, Idalia looked around again and she couldn't see anyone around.
