Chapter 21 - This Dangerous Game
"You wanted him to kill Ann." That statement being the first thing she said didn't make sense.
But the certainty of death for her and Arik in this situation was too devastating for her. She had played the game, she had killed two birds with one stone, only to find out she might have just stoned herself and her baby along with it.
She wanted the attention shifted from her for even a little bit. She wanted to breathe. She needed to think.
"Of course. Kinet will say she deserves it. Can you say she does not?"
Idalia sucked in a deep breath. She blinked and nodded. The plan was not to get caught at all then. Therefore, she didn't have time for this.
"I have to go," she said. "Now that I know my problems are bigger than expected, I must hurry."
But Rosabel grabbed her arm before she could leave.
What was it this time?
The clock was beginning to tick away in Idalia's mind and Rosabel was starting to be nothing but a hindrance.
