"You also promised to protect this family," Holly reminded her quietly. "Do you no longer care about your sister or me?"
Summer went silent.
"I still remember you saying you'd protect Chloe with your life," Holly continued, her tone sharpening. "What about now? Have you decided you won't protect her anymore?"
Summer's mind drifted back to her promise.
