Chapter 50 - The truth from the past

"Show me the other angle," Gideon demanded, his voice clipped with frustration.

Matthew shrugged. "This is all I could retrieve," he replied with disappointment. "But… even with this angle, something is off."

He leaned closer to the tablet, tapping a spot on the paused frame.

"Look carefully, sir. Madam Summer's body is almost still. If she had pushed Danica, there should be a jerk in her arm or a shift in her balance. But there is nothing."

Gideon rewound the footage. His eyes scanned every movement, searching for the truth he had missed years ago.

There it was again – Danica leaning in, grabbing Summer's arm, then collapsing backward in a dramatic fall that didn't match Summer's body language and movements.

He replayed it once more and once more. It grew clearer that Summer might have been wrongly accused at the time. The truth burned into him. A hot, simmering anger tightened his chest.

"So you are saying, she didn't push Danica," he muttered, "that Danica was lying."
