Chapter 125 - Chapter 125: Suna Fuinjutsu Sucks

When Shota reached the Kage building, he appeared directly in front of the Kazekage and bowed deeply.

Rasa, the Fourth Kazekage, looked up from the document he was reading. He closed it carefully and set it aside. "Raven, considering you have come here directly to report, it seems that you have some complications with your mission that you want to urgently report?"

"Yes, Kazekage-sama," Shota replied respectfully. "My mission was to stop the operations of the auction house that was run by Root. The task was made difficult with the presence of several hidden villages, both small and big. Iwa had sent Kitsuchi himself."

Rasa raised an eyebrow at that news. He leaned forward slightly in his seat. "Continue."

Shota explained the rest of the events in clear detail. "Since such a high profile and so many villages chose to attend, I suspected that something must have garnered their interest. Thus I chose to attend the auction in a disguise along with the rest of the squad."

He continued without pause. "I managed to acquire some very specific jutsus or tools that Suna could study and learn from and were not in Suna's jutsus archive."

Rasa immediately asked with a little worry in his voice, "You did not pay for them? Right?"

The Kazekage wanted to make his position very clear. If Shota had actually paid money for those items, the village would not reimburse him.

Rasa knew the young operative had a reputation for being quite fond of money and resources. He imagined Shota trying to claim expenses for rare jutsus bought at a black market auction.

He added more to drive the point home. "Because if you did spend village funds or your own money expecting repayment, I must tell you now that such expenses will not be approved. We cannot set a bad example by funding personal shopping trips during official missions, even if the items are useful for the village." Rasa pictured the paperwork that would follow if he approved such a thing.

Other Anbu might start buying expensive weapons and then ask for refunds by saying that they bought it for the village. It would turn the mission budget into a joke.

Shota replied quickly to ease the Kazekage's worry. "Of course not, Kazekage-sama. I would not spend village money without permission of course."

Rasa just looked at him weirdly for a moment, as if trying to read the truth behind the mask. Shota then continued. "Anyways, I managed to acquire two things that I feel would be very beneficial for Suna."

"One is Shikoku Fūin, the finger carving seal. And the other is... Wind Style: Vacuum Bullets jutsu," Shota said.

Rasa's eyes widened in surprise. "Did you say Vacuum Bullets jutsu, the jutsu created by the Second Kazekage?"

"Yes, Kazekage-sama. The very same," Shota confirmed. "I myself checked the jutsu scroll. While I suspect some of the principles of advanced wind nature required for this jutsu are missing, with people like Elder Ebizo who knew the Second Kazekage, we could recreate the jutsu successfully."

Rasa had a big smile on his face. "Good. Good. Good."

But that smile slowly turned into a frown as he thought deeper about the situation. "So Danzo somehow really stole the Second Kazekage's jutsus. We need to hunt him down to find the other Vacuum jutsus as well. It just reaffirms our commitment to hunt him and Root down."

Rasa explained his thinking clearly. The fact that Danzo had access to such valuable and secret techniques from Suna's own history showed how dangerous the old Root leader still was.

These jutsus belonged to their village's legacy, and seeing them sold in a black market auction made the Kazekage angry. It proved that Danzo had stolen important knowledge over the years.

Suna could not let him keep doing this. Hunting Root down was not just about Konoha anymore. It was necessary to protect their own secrets and strengthen the village.

Every lost jutsu made their enemies stronger, and Rasa refused to allow that to continue.

Shota nodded at that statement, showing he agreed completely.

Rasa then asked with curiosity, "You mentioned these two jutsus separately. Why specifically these two? I can understand the Vacuum jutsu, but why the finger carving seal."

"We would be having two new Jinchuriki soon," Shota explained. "It is better for us to be better with fuinjutsu to keep the tailed beasts contained and the Jinchuriki in check. We don't want what happened in Kumo to happen in Suna."

Rasa remembered the incident clearly. Just a couple of years before, the Eight-Tails had rampaged in Kumogakure. It had killed many civilians and shinobi before the Third Raikage managed to stop it.

The event had been a terrible reminder of how dangerous uncontrolled tailed beasts could be.

"You are right," Rasa said. "Compared to all other villages, Suna is lacking in fuinjutsu, and you have given me a good idea to rectify that."

Shota looked at him curiously, waiting to hear what the Kazekage had in mind. Rasa leaned back in his chair with a thoughtful expression.

Rasa leaned forward in his chair and looked at Shota with serious eyes after a few seconds. He asked a direct question. "How much of fuinjutsu do you know, Raven?"

Shota answered honestly and without hesitation. "Only what has been taught to us in the academy. The basics like how to detect hidden seals, how to use some seals. I have also learned to make explosion seals as well as sealing seals."

Rasa nodded slowly and then spoke again. "It seems that you were right, Raven. Suna really needs to up its fuinjutsu standards if even one of the geniuses of the village and an Anbu operative knows only this much of fuinjutsu."

Shota kept his face calm, but inside his mind was full of thoughts. 'Yeah, no shit, dude. You have to up it considering the shitty seal that would be placed on your son Gaara that would make him believe Shukaku was his mom.'

He then internally scoffed at the comment about geniuses. 'And the fuck did he mean with one of the geniuses. I am the only genius the village currently has with Sasori nii-san gone. Well, there is Lady Pakura but she is a goddess, not a genius.'

"And considering Būpaku had already told you about your future role as a Jinchuriki caretaker, you would need as much knowledge in fuinjutsu as you can get," Rasa continued.

He made his decision clear. "And thus I have decided that you would be trained in fuinjutsu. Lady Chiyo and Elder Ebizo, who both are the foremost masters of this art in the village, would be teaching you."
