Lightning surged wildly, and murderous ferocity filled the air.
"Roar!"
With a thunderous dragon cry, a cyan beam as thick as a barrel erupted from the Thunder Dragon's mouth.
Like a roaring dragon of lightning, the savage blast slammed straight toward Vilgax and Kevin.
For an instant, even the blood-red sky seemed to dim. Every alien beast within a thousand meters had already fled, terrified of getting caught in the battle.
"Damn it, don't think I'm scared of you!" Kevin snarled and thrust out a hand, unleashing a pillar of fire.
But that blazing fire column was utterly powerless against the raging Thunder Dragon. It was crushed instantly, blown apart into scattered waves of heat that swept in every direction.
"Let me do it!"
Vilgax's arms swelled, his muscles bulging high. His body enhancements had made him tremendously strong.
He clenched his iron fists with a crackling sound and threw the full force of his body into a punch aimed at the terrifying lightning beam.
"I'll help you!"
Grinding his teeth, Kevin charged forward alongside Vilgax, using all four arms as they tried to block the Thunder Dragon's attack.
Boom!
In the next moment, cyan lightning exploded, violent winds howled, and the surrounding boulders all shattered and were annihilated by the ferocious blast.
Diamondhead's eyes sharpened. He transformed into XLR8, grabbed the stunned Gwen, and ran at once to avoid the lightning.
Buzzshock, however, did the exact opposite. Not only did he not run, he moved closer to the center of the explosion and absorbed the thunderous power without restraint.
Streams of lightning poured endlessly into his body. Buzzshock closed his eyes in pure enjoyment, completely at home in it.
For anyone else, the Thunder Dragon's attack might have been fatal.
For him, it was nothing less than a gift from heaven.
Buzzshock's energy recovered at an astonishing pace, shooting upward in a straight line.
In just a few breaths, he was back at peak condition.
At that moment, sharp bolts of electricity burst from Buzzshock's eyes. Cyan light blazed all over his body, scorching the air around him with overwhelming force.
"Roar!" A bolt of lightning shot from the Thunder Dragon's horns and slammed into Buzzshock like a flash.
Buzzshock cried out as the energy inside him nearly burst him apart, and his body began to split.
One, two, four... ten!
Ten Buzzshocks appeared in midair, staring at one another, their bodies overflowing with violent electricity.
"Are you... giving me energy?" Buzzshock asked in surprise, staring at the Thunder Dragon across from him.
To his shock, the Thunder Dragon actually nodded, as if it really understood.
Back then, Buzzshock had spared its life, and it still remembered that.
Besides, it did not want to be drained dry by Buzzshock again... Rather than wait to be sucked empty, it would rather offer up a little energy on its own. Maybe Buzzshock would let it go that way.
"Thanks!" Buzzshock said with a grin. It seemed there really were benefits to sparing lives.
Of course, that depended on the enemy. Against foes like Vilgax and Ghostfreak, you had to wipe them out completely and leave no trouble behind.
"Argh!"
Two large figures fell from the sky like kites with their strings cut, crashing hard onto a chunk of spaceship wreckage with a deafening blast.
Vilgax and Kevin were covered in wounds, their bodies lined with charred burns that still gave off wisps of heat.
Clearly, the Thunder Dragon's earlier attack had injured them badly.
The Thunder Dragon looked a little surprised to see that neither of them was dead, but it quickly recovered, let out another roar, and prepared to attack again.
"Roar!"
From the side, a savage giant serpent opened its fangs and lunged at the Thunder Dragon with a foul, rotten stench.
The Barbarian Dragon!
Its hundred-meter body gave it unmatched strength. A single blow from it could smash apart a mountain.
Even the Thunder Dragon was no match for the Barbarian Dragon in raw power alone.
A cold glint flashed through the Thunder Dragon's crimson eyes. With a thunder-shaking roar, it turned and attacked the fierce Barbarian Dragon, the two of them instantly locking into battle.
Rumble!
The earth shook, the mountains trembled, lightning flashed, and thunder roared.
Buzzshock looked at the two giant beasts tearing into each other, then stopped paying attention to them and turned his focus to Vilgax and Kevin.
He did not continue absorbing the Thunder Dragon's energy. He still needed it to hold the powerful Barbarian Dragon in check.
If he drained the Thunder Dragon completely, it definitely would not be the Barbarian Dragon's match. It probably would not last more than a few exchanges before being beaten to death.
And once that happened, the Barbarian Dragon would turn on him and Ben again.
Buzzshock had no intention of letting that happen.
"This is bad!" Vilgax felt his scalp go numb. Buzzshock had actually split into ten.
Kevin beat his wings and tried to flee.
"Trying to run? Too late."
The ten Buzzshocks rushed him all at once, turning into brilliant streaks of light as they shot straight at Kevin.
Crackle, crackle...
Wave after wave of intense electricity flashed.
Kevin could not stop himself from screaming. "Ah! I was wrong, Lucian! I'll never attack you again! Please let me go!!"
Buzzshock did not believe a word of it and kept attacking.
The ten Buzzshocks latched onto Kevin's massive body, electricity erupting all over them. The intense pain and numbing shock made him scream without end.
Seeing that, Vilgax moved in to help.
If Kevin died, his own fate would not be much better.
They were in the same boat now.
As soon as Vilgax joined the fight, Buzzshock simply created an electric cage and trapped both of them inside.
Then the ten Buzzshocks worked together and launched a relentless assault on the cage.
Bolts of surging electricity, like snarling cyan spirit serpents, tore viciously into Vilgax and Kevin.
"Aaaah!"
Inside the electric cage, Vilgax and Kevin screamed miserably, their bodies convulsing.
They were afraid of electricity too.
Buzzshock was fighting at full power now, killing intent blazing.
With a chance to kill two powerful enemies at once, there was no way he would let it slip away.
Two minutes later.
The two inside the cage were already torn open with wounds, covered in blood, with hair and tentacles standing on end.
And yet, they still refused to die.
"These two... their bodies are ridiculously tough." Buzzshock frowned.
At full power, his electricity was in the tens of thousands of volts. Ordinary creatures could not have lasted even a few seconds.
Yet Vilgax and Kevin had endured it for several whole minutes.
No wonder they were two of the great villains of the original story...
Even so, Buzzshock did not stop attacking.
"Give me two more minutes, and I'll definitely kill you both." Buzzshock's eyes turned cold and resolute.
Beep beep beep!
The Omnitrix on his chest suddenly began flashing.
The ten Buzzshocks were forced back into one, and then a brilliant flash of light turned him back into Lucian.
In midair, Lucian stared at his hands in shock as he began to fall.
You piece of junk, whose side are you on, Lucian screamed inwardly.
With the transformation time up, the electric cage vanished on its own.
Vilgax and Kevin panted heavily as they looked at Lucian in the air, mocking smiles curling across their faces.
"Die, Lucian!" Kevin hurled several crystal spikes that tore through the air and shot toward him at high speed.
Lucian instinctively raised the Omnitrix to block.
Whoosh!
A giant insect flew past, caught the falling Lucian, deftly dodged the crystal spikes, and sped off into the distance.
"Ben Tennyson, you again!" Kevin roared madly, nearly exploding with rage.
Against the blood-red sky, Stinkfly carried Lucian on his back as they fled.
"Cuz, the portal's about to close. We have to get out of here now," Ben said. He had no desire to be trapped in this hellhole.
No video games, no corn chips. It was the worst.
"Okay." Lucian nodded. His transformation time was up, so the farther he got from the battlefield, the better.
"Screech!!"
Two gray-white Null Guardians suddenly came chasing after them from behind.
Hearing the shrill cries, Lucian frowned and turned back.
"It's Vilgax and Kevin. They caught up!"
"Then let's move. Hang on tight, Cuz!" Stinkfly accelerated.
"No, it's not just Vilgax and Kevin. The Barbarian Dragon and the Thunder Dragon are coming too!" Lucian said, eyes fixed firmly on the distance behind them.
"Oh, come on!" Stinkfly pressed a hand to his forehead.
"Forget it. Let's meet up with Gwen first, then leave the Null Void." Lucian's face turned grave.
...
Half a minute later, a golden ring of light gradually came into view.
"That should be the exit." Lucian felt a surge of relief.
"Hand over the Omnitrix!"
The moment the words fell, two huge gray-white figures shot past Stinkfly. Vilgax and Kevin, riding savage Null Guardians, abruptly blocked their path...
